A Right Royal Variety

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

A Right Royal Variety

Post by Kay »

The Royal Variety Performance 2008 at The London Palladium shown on BBC TV last night was a real night out for the girls. There were three ‘drag’ acts two of them headlining the show, being the final performances of the evening.
I missed “The guys in tutus” from the Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo as I was watching Star Trek Voyager (I’ll catch up with them on the I-player) but I did see the cast from La Cage Aux Folles and comedian Peter Kay’s talent show alter ego Geraldine McQueen. Not bad representation of a ‘minority’ group of people on main-stream TV.
Time to get some theatre tickets J and I both want to see La Cage Aux Folles in the new year and I reckon we will try and get to see the guys in tutus too.

p.s. - I just watched the Trockadero de Monte Carlo and their dying Swan routine is a 'killer'. =D>

Well you guys started it all, not necessarily the cross-dressing, but William Shakespear from Stratford on Avon supposedly was the first to use "us" as main characters in his plays! Well, that is what I have heard anyway!

We are good at what we do aren't we! =D>

Love,
