Things I used to think were true
Hi girls,
1. I used to think the family I grew up in was normal.
2. I used to think that all law enforcement officers were honest and had the public's interests at heart.
3. I used to think that people who got good grades in school were smarter than people who did not get good grades.
4.I used to think that politicians were there to represent the interests of all the citizens they served.
5. I used to believe that everyone had a fair shot at "The American Dream".
6. I used to believe the Judicial system was fair and interested in the truth.
7. I used to believe that "family" represented a special bond of trust and universal acceptance of it's members.
8. I used to think there was no one out there like me.
9. I used to think love was a word people used to manipulate other people, and had no independent meaning.
10. I used to think I was all alone.
11. I used to think that kind loving people like all of you, did not exist.
12. I used to think no one could ever love me.
13. I used to think Elizabeth could never be.
14. I used to think mustard was disgusting.
15. I used to think poor people were just lazy.
16. I used to think that cotton panties could never be sexy.
17. I used to think smoking was cool.
18. I used to think Americans were always the good guys.
19. I used to think the death penalty was justified.
20. I used to think I could hold all my emotions in, forever.
But I was wrong.
Love always.

I used to think..... then my head exploded.
Number 9 on your list should be read this way for me,,,,,, love IS a word people used to manipulate other people.
Also number ten for me is,,, I am all alone.
hell, maybe number 9 created the situation number 10 for me.
Number 12,,, well,, if I have number 10, being all alone, then it goes without saying that number 12 "no one can ever love me" is also true for me. One who is all alone, will not find love.. No one knows they exist.
Anyways,, Liz, I'm glad that you found some balance in your life,, in other words, you see the light.

Hi Amelie,
NO hon, you are not alone, you got a bunch of sisters here in this sorority that care a lot about you!
As for love, well, I can say we love you, but it may not exactly fill your need in that area, but we love you!!!
Stay fluffy, hon!
Love ya,
Virginia

Thanks Virginia, but sometimes it's difficult for me to grasp reality from the computer screen.
I am not silly, you all exist and are very lovely, but my mind isn't always capable to view everything as real. I'm sorry if that sounds stupid,, my mind doesn't always work properly.
Maybe this can help what I am trying to say. Sometimes I really, really need a physical hug, a physical shoulder to cry on,, it's just that my circumstances at home make this difficult if not impossible,, a virtual hug is nice, and is from the heart of the sender, but sometimes the feeling of warm body is sorely needed.
Love ya Virginia

Good analogy Jennifer,Jennifer M wrote:Here I thought it was the S.S. Posiedon(sp).Still afloat just upside down
I found myself on that ship in 1975 , two years after it capsized in the movie , it might be alright for Ernest Borgnine and his friends and their spectacular escape but I'm still on it , well over thirty years later.

Yes, that is what I was thinking too. I thought I was alone until I came here. Here I found acceptance for the first time in my life.Virginia wrote:Hi Amelie,

I understand how you feel. I would say that most of us know how it feels to be alone. Many of us played alone as children and some of us grew up in non-loving homes. I remember crying alone so many times with no one to tell me everything was going to be ok. I would imagine all the things I would say about why I was crying, if only anyone would ask. But they never did.Amelie-Laveau wrote:Thanks Virginia, but sometimes it's difficult for me to grasp reality from the computer screen.

Not until I found this place. No matter what? No matter how bad things get? I never have to cry alone again. Because if I am sad enough to cry, my sisters here for sure want to know why. But most of my life, there was either no one that I cared or they were things I could not tell anyone, so therefore no one to tell. I cried alone. I agree, it's not a hug and it doesn't feel as nice having someone to cuddle up to. But it's much better than crying alone.
In a way it's kind of funny because the most important things I learned here, had nothing to do with crossdressing.
Love always,
Elizabeth
