my first expressions of femininity

Post by Gwen Lee »

My earliest memory of crossdressing is wearing my mothers nylon stockings. I was 5 or so, and they felt so good to the touch that I had to slip them on my legs. Of course they were too big for me, but it seemed like the right thing to do. From then on I had a fascination and attraction for women's clothing.

The next event happened when we were visiting my cousins and I was about 7 or 8. There were 3 or 4 female cousins, slightly older than me. We were playing dress up, and they encouraged me to try on a little wonder woman costume. I thought it was great. I loved the outfit, especially since it was a super hero, and had no concept that it was out of the ordinary for a boy to wear it. I remember running through the house with them, whle the parents laughed. Only later did it dawn on me why they were so amused.

My attraction to female clothes really culminated when my sister was in her late teens and I was about 12 or 13. This was in the mid-60s when women still wore girdles, but short skirts were beginning to appear. She had many cute skirts and dresses, which fit me. But the dream wear for me was a matching set of girdle, bra, panties, and half slip, all in a light lemon yellow. I would put them on with a pair of her nylons and slip into a little jacket and mini skirt outfit. I even went as far as to use her makeup. From then on, I knew I would always love women's clothes.

Gwen Lee, the mid 60's were something else in womens clothes, or was it that we really became interested about that time?

There was something special about the mid-60s. I think it was the mix of conservative fashion, like foundation wear, with the new mod styles like mini skirts. Of course, I am very biased toward that time. LOL..

Virginia, I agree TN is a lovely state, but i also like VA. Nice mix of landscapes and history.

Thanks everyone for being so welcoming to me.

I think it was the age we were more than anything else. Every generation remembers their childhood as the good old days if they are lucky. We just remember the good old days with reference to clothing.

Hi Gwen,
Ahhh! The 60's. How I loved it back then. Most of the girls wore girdles with garters under their skirts. I had to be content with mom's things. I especially loved the Playtex rubber girdles. The open bottom ones with all he holes in it and a light coating of soft cotton inside.
Hugs,
Diana

I agree that when we are young, we are more impressionable. Especially for us, the clothes are a critical part of those memories. I try to keep those as a basis for my femininity, but have added more depth (I hope). I know I feel more comfortable with my feminine side and am aware of how it needs to be expressed beyond wearing certain clothes.

:-k Girls, just my thoughts, but it has often been mentioned about the 60's and the cothing. I think that a lot of it has to do with the age of most of us and the firsts we remember. There was the first date, first love, first realization of girls, first dance and especialy the first clothes, along with the first realization of the gift (even though we didn't know it then).

Most of us have had other firsts in our lives that we remember, but the firsts of our childhood and teen years are the firsts we remember and think about most.

First expressions

Post by Julieann »

My first bra was one my mother discarded. I was amazed at how little padding I needed to fill out a 36D; I was a bit overweight. When I was 14 I managed to find a bra, panties, see through blouse and skirt in the basement. One night I slipped downstairs and into my feminine attire. I was totally engrossed when my younger brother walked in on me. C'est la vie!
After that it was my mom's/sisters bras and panties whenever I could. I remember babysitting for a former teacher; when the children were asleep I would raid her hamper and wear her lingerie. She wore a 36B padded bra and I did not need to pad it. One night I fell asleep in her lingerie but awoke before she got home.
When I left for university I purged my collection but that only lasted a few monthe when I discovered mailorders and purchased my first longline bra, panties and pantyhose. I purged again when I started dating the love of my life. That lasted until we got married and I gained access to her lingerie and other clothes. That was 38 years ago and I still wear her lingerie, skirts and sweaters when she is away. She knows I have a strong feminine side and travels on occasion so I am en femme while she is away. I do wear panties and bras around the house much of the time. I paint my nails and wear light color lipsticks often

I like contemporary women's clothes, and prefer pantyhose to girdles and stockings, but I do have a thing for pretty slips. That has to come from puberty in the pre-miniskirt early sixties. Of course, nowadays real women aren't even wearing pantyhose. They are wearing skirts and dresses bare legged, with peep toed shoes. It's killing me! My legs are decent in hose, but bare legged the illusion devolves into lumpy masculinity. How is a male bodied lady to keep up appearances? :-k
I am a vessel of the Goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.

Pantyhose can be nice. I do really like the sheer to waist styles or ones with a lace tanga panty. I totally agree with the dislike of bare leg style that is common now. Unless you tan really well, which I don't, the bare look just isn't a finished look.

I don't just dislike the bare leg look on me, I dislike it on GGs, too.
I'm not that kind of girl.
