Online Dating

Post by Gaven McLaren »

I have decided that I do not like to be alone so I have joined an online dating site. I have joined Ok Cupid. I am not sure if anyone else here has ever been a member of an online dating site? I have tried to join other ones but most others charge for a membership. I am not sure if it has hurt my chances but I do admit in my profile that I am a crossdresser.

I would hope that we do not have to tell you to be careful. There are some real weird-o's out there and they will take every advantage, especially if they sense vunerablity and CD'ing can come across that way.

OTOH, there are GG's out there that are fasinated with us, of that fact I can assure you.

Good luck and please let us know how it goes for you!

Gaven, I can't comment about online dating since I was married before the invention of the personal computer. But back in the early seventies, when I was coming to terms with being a"transvestite" as we called it in those days, I tried personal ads in the local underground newspaper, frankly stating that I was a transvestite, interested in meeting open minded women. I met as many transvestites as I did women, but I did meet women. No long term relationships developed, but I had some interesting little adventures, and met some interesting people.

As with any new experience, be careful, be aware of the exits. But for me, there was no down side. Even if it didn't produce a long term relationship, at a time when I was lonely and bored, it produced a social life of its own. Taxi rides filled with anticipation, intimate conversations that I otherwise never would have had. So, if you are asking what to expect from this, can't tell ya.
If you're asking, "do I think you should do it"? Absolutely.
I am a vessel of the Goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.

Hi Gaven--
It's worth it, I think. Years ago I put ads in the alternative weeklies, and got good results from them. Like April, I didn't get long-term relationship out of them, but I did get some contact from them, and met some great women.

Online? It's better in that you can quickly establish contact, and see if the person's pictures interest you at all. I don't see that you have much to lose by being honest about being a crossdresser, either.

Thanks for the wishes of luck and words of warning. I have been online for many years and know the risks. It is good to know that I have people that are willing to wish me luck and warn me. 8)

Alright I have an update.

I am now dating a friend of mine that have known for a while. So I have now left the online dating site. The funny thing is I asked her out on April Fools day and she said yes. I will invite her to join here soon. She knows about my cross-dressing and is cool with it.
