Where to Find Short Skirts
Hello : I have discovered that long skirts and dresses are more common than even knee length ones with most retailers.
But I have ordered skirts in sizes 16, 18, 1X and /or 2X from the GAP and OLD NAVY web sites. Regular GAP stores do not carry items above 1X or 16; larger sized items are available only from their web site. "GAP OUTLET" stores do carry styles in larger sizes. OLD NAVY stores also stock larger sizes of most items, but the larger sizes can sell out quickly. JC PENNEY may also have shorter skirts in larger sizes; TALBOTS too but their prices are fairly high.
You can always try consignment shops and thrift stores if there are any near you-- you never know what you might find.
You might find some shorter skirts in "vintage" stores also.
Happy shopping!
Peace-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").

One of the most memorable moments for me at Diva Las Vegas last year was mingling with the crowd at a public concert and having a girl behind me comment: "I can't believe you've got better legs than me, a**hole." Not the sweetest phrasing but she seemed to mean it kindly and was friendly enough as we chatted for a while. The opportunity to show off those legs can be irresistible, but if you're going to wear something short don't forget to spend a little time practicing being graceful and discreet when sitting down, or stooping to pick up something you've dropped.

Just go shopping and hit all of the stores. I usually make the swing through various stores including but not limited to, Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, Cathrine's, JCPenny, Sears, KMart, Target, Kohls, Shopko, Torrid, second hand stores, and many .... and can not forget the mall in general.

Hi RickS,
When looking for skirts of a certain length, variety in any item and style, or anything that may not be "in" at the moment, there's one destination above all others:
Your local Salvation Army (or Goodwill, or equivalent).
Not every store is good. Look for the ones that are large, well kept, the clothes clean and in good condition.
You say you don't want to wear something someone else has already worn? Don't worry, they have new things too! -- for instance, clothes that have been donated as surplus by stores after spending time on remainder but not selling.
You will save money, you will find incredible things (it's like a cornucopia of clothing from retro to up-to-date), and apart from the current season's offerings, no "new clothes" store can possibly compete.
I know Virginia will second me on this; she's said it a hundred times. But that's 'cause it's really true.
Love, Robyn Katie
