Bras
AS far as equipment goes, the bra is probably the most important. I have posted several times that in lieu of a professional fitting, go to a store that carry several upscale lines. Make sure you understand their return policy and hopefully you know your approximate size. Buy several from various manufactures, take them home and try them on with your forms and various dresses, blouses and sweaters that you wear. Make notes of which ones fit properly and the various cup sizes that meet what you are trying to accomplish. Return those that you don't like or fit. Works for me anyway. My favorite line is Olga! My fave is the Body By Victoria bra from Victoria's Secret!Jessie wrote:I thought I ask people (or those who like them) what is there favorite bra or bras. I have a few I like. Currently I like what is called barely there bra. It has no wires or hooks and fits pretty good.

If you are not wearing your bras 24/7, does comfort matter that much? I much prefer to feel sexy in a beautiful bra than comfortable in an average bra. Women have been wearing different articles of clothing for centuries which are uncomfortable, just for the sake of style. I think I'll join them.

In case anyone is looking for a pretty and comfortable bra, I have purchased some nice bra and panty sets from "Just my Size"
The ones I like best are: Valmont Satin Soft Cup Bra & Hi-Cut Set

Beauty:
I don't really have a favorite. I have tried several different manufacturers, and they all seem to be very good. Again, I like the ones that are a blend, and are a bit stretchy. They hug you close, and if you accidently throw them in the dryer with your other laundry, they won't shrink like the all-cotton ones (And this has happened to me. More than once. I'm a veteran at doing absent-minded things like that.).

My favorite bra is from Avenue. It fits like a dream, is simple and holds my breast forms in perfectly.
My prettines bra is from a store calles Cato and is lacy and a demi bra in light lavender. Beautiful and with Hollister spray adhesive holding the forms in , looks great on

I'm with VickiLee... I don't think I 've ever spent more that $8 on a bra. Usually under $3, sometimes under $0.25. I have had many. Some fit well, some not quite as well. Some are more comfortable, some less. Most with straps have needed a little lengthening in the sewing room, but other than that, I've done OK.
Maybe if I could see firsthand a reason to spend $40+ on just one brassiere, I would try it - once I get out of the deep financial hole I am in.
Best advice for the new crossdresser on a tight budget: Learn your size, and find an estate sale or garage sale for a woman about your same size (or the size you want to be)! Hit a church rummage sale right before they end, and buy stuff by the bag! I bought a dozen new pairs of hose that way once, for about $0.50 total.
Hugs,
Bernice
