Dressed for Sport
This is something of a fantasy thing, with a hint of reality...
Have you ever wanted to play some sort of semi-athletic game or sport - be it typically male or female - while dressed? I like to bicycle while dressed, but I can't use makeup because of the sweat, errr perspiration, I mean glow, problem. The dressing is pretty much limited to tight things, and that can get boring. Also it tends to be solitary. So I'm trying to think of something else.
Anything too rough and tumble like US football or soccer would just play havoc with breast forms. Shuffleboard, on the other hand, would put me to sleep.
Seriously, golf would be nice, strolling the links as a spectator in a flowing skirt/dress. But playing in in such an outfit wouldn't be practical, and playing in pants doesn't strike me as fun. Actually, I don't play golf at all.
I think softball would be fun if the uniform included a short skirt. Short-shorts might work, but baggy basketball trunks wouldn't. Here's a twist: could teams somehow get points for throwing like girls? Naturally, the pitcher would, by definition, use that vicious underhand "windmill" throw. There might be a serious problem with getting two teams of CDs together at the same time.
Does anyone have a practical suggestion or a delicious fantasy?

Ah!? Brings back memories of power lifting. My training partner, female, 132 pounds was squatting over 460 pounds and bench pressing right at 320 pounds. The power suits these girls wear are just the same as the men wear. There is one super heavy female that now has totalled over 2200 pounds. She weighs in between 290 and 310 pounds - You don't want to make her mad!!!!!
Of course, I love those short, white tennis shorts!

bowling dressed 1950s femme style - bullet bra, poodle skirt, petticoat;
tennis in a cute short skirted outfit with fancy panties;
ice skating in an adorable figure skating outfit.
fantasy - croquet dressed as an antebellum southern belle.

I would have to win a big lottery to get the funds to establish both Nifty Fifties Fantasy World and Madame Jadeanne's Antebellum Reenactment Fantasy Manor and Academy.Rikki wrote:Jadeanne,
Let me know when you arrange for the bowling and the croquet!!!
I remember having one gym class each year cover square dancing - do we want to consider square dancing a sport?

April Rose, you are a comedienne! Granted, the definition of cross dressing can get blurry around bicycles. Maybe you need to look deeper than the pink spandex and shaved legs - like maybe to the matching modal nylon panties and bra. Here's a tough call. What do you call it when a guy with a beard wears pink spandex - and his fingernail polish matches the outfit?April Rose wrote:How is it possible to bicycle cross dressed? Around here at least, pink spandex and shaved legs seems to be the Male attire!
All the thoughts and suggestions have been inspiring. Croquet may be the most reasonable because I could wear makeup. Ante-bellum hoop skirts might be a little awkward, so I would go for a slightly later vintage ankle length dress, probably long sleeve. Cotton bra and panties. Maybe a mid-length light weight lace-up boot. I imagine a very English look.
Square dancing could be considered a sport. I like the women's clothes. Learning the steps would be hard - can a CD cry when she gets frustrated? That might be out of character, because GGs seem to pick up dance steps without a problem.
For pure retro-fantasy, bowling in a 1950's outfit would be incredible: hair in a pony-tail, poodle skirt with petticoat, and of course those lace up saddle-shoes (?) to get to the bowling alley. Best of all, under the puff sleeve blouse, I would have a lacy white bullet bra. I've never even seen one, but I want one now.

Diva Las Vegas has had an annual golf tournament for quite some time and it's been a great excuse to flesh out my wardrobe in an athletic direction. I now have two complete feminine golf outfits and am very much looking forward to getting more opportunities to wear them. It definitely takes a while to get used to swinging a club with breasts!

I forgot because I don't think of it as a sport. I love to go for walks in the woods in a casual skirt and top, and occaisionally a long flowing gown. I'd love to climb easy mountains in similar attire, but the knees are not up to it.

Be careful, the clothing isn't up to it. I still climb the easy stuff a bit, and I'm quite sure I would kill myself were I to try while wearing a long dress. At the very least, I would destroy a long dress just walking over uneven ground.Absaroka wrote:... and occaisionally a long flowing gown. For me, cheerleading (as in American football) is a fantasy even wilder than 1950's-retro bowling. Almost as fantastic as looking good in one of those cute outfits would be doing those great high kicks that the GGs can make look so effortless. Believe me, if I was now, or ever in the past, capable of those kicks, you would be plenty bored with all the pictures.
Now I don't want to change the subject, but how many girls have wanted to put together a cheerleading outfit? I wonder if I can start a poll.
Badminton (yes, that's the official spelling) is probably something I could do. The important question is how I would dress. Does anyone have a description or a picture of a proper lady-like badminton outfit. That would exclude spandex. Since I don't know where there are any current players, I'm thinking of regressing to a late 19th, early 20th century get-up. It would probably have bloomer legs, gathered at the knee, and sensible stockings. The top would probably have to button up to be reasonably close fitting, and covering the shoulders to avoid showing any underwear. But I'm drifting...
