I was about 12 or so. My older sister (two years) had this skirt hanging up in the bathroom - she had hand washed it earlier in the day and it was just about dry. The skirt featured two wide straps that looped over the shoulders (over a blouse) and the hem came down to just above the knee.

Anyway, one day I was taking care of business and I found myself staring at the skirt. Wondering what it was like to wear one. Knowing how taboo it was for boys to even think about wearing skirts. But curiosity got the best of me and when I finished, I slipped my shorts off and carefully stepped into the skirt, pulling it up over my hips and slipping the straps over my shoulder. I pulled the back zip and it closed completely (I was fairly thin back then).

I looked down at the skirt, then at my hairy legs and socks below and thought "Ewww". It really was NOT a pretty sight. It really looked out of place actually.

BUT - It did get the mind wandering onto the "what ifs"......

What if I were to wear hose? And what if I had a proper blouse, and bra, and panties and.......Well needless to say, the first chance I got being home alone, I went into her room, took out the skirt and a frilly blouse and everything else and got all dolled up. I liked it! It felt good. Right. I was immideatly addicted to the silky satin feeling of panties and slips and hosiery.

Someday I'll tell you all about what I thought was the prettiest dress in the world and I just HAD to wear it! My sisters homecoming dress!

I have a gray jumper skirt I've never worn out. Maybe once I loose a few more pounds?

Oh how well I know about curiosity, as one Saturday while mom was at work just for the fun of it I try on her bra, panties. I was so overwhelm I just had to try on her stockings next, of course this meant I had to put on a girdle as that's all there was back then. All week at school all I could think of was this weekend I will go all the way and wear a dress and shoes and play dress up. In 56 years I haven't looked back.

LOL! Yes Carol Ann. It always seems to start with "Oh, I think I'll just wear a bra and panties for now." Then it's "Well, some hose would feel nice." Then a slip, blouse, skirt, heels, makeup and a spritz of Chanel and next thing you know you're ready for the day!

Your story is remarkably similar to mine... except the jumper was a shirtdress, and was a different color.
