Spring & Summer 2009 heel trends

Post by CJ »

Hi all,

Bring out your blister ointments, gals, 'cause though you'll be walking tall in a few months your pretties'll be scrunched something fierce.

Apparently, sky-high heels are the next trend. See a few examples here:

Uh, good luck, y'all!

Love,
CJ

CJ,

Only if you are a slave of fashion or wanting to be "hip" will you try wearing those shoes. Us older, and sensible women will stick to a heel no higher than 3"

I use to be able to do 5" heels all day. But I must be getting old as I am down to 4".

I feel underdressed without at least 4" heels. I love my femininity!

Hi girls,

The heel on the shoe on the first page looked more like a chess piece than a heel of a shoe. I did not find it stylish at all. Certainly nothing I would ever consider.

Love always,
Elizabeth

None of them look hip to me, more likely to lead to a broken hip :-k .

The heel of the first shoe looks like it was originally designed to be a custom hood ornament which depicts a statue of an ancient fertility goddess.

The 4th shoe looks like it was an illustration in a FictionMania story (I hope the website comes back soon).

The 6th shoe looks it it belongs in a BDSM photo shoot.

I saw the same topic on a german board.
What does those sky-high heels do: they tighten the backside, they make the legs longer and the feet shorter (like children feet). They simply make more sex-appeal.

IMHO this is just another try to bring the porn design to public, as it was already done with underwear and all the other clothing. The trend says: show lots of sex-appeal and the men will love this... (not you, just your appearance).

In privacy I would consider those design to be OK. In public I would never wear those shoes. Not only, as they would hurt my feet, but also they would reduce me to a sex-object. I would not like to go out in such an over-sexed fashion and I can only recommend to all women (us and genetic women), not to follow this trend. Unfortunately to much GGs follow those trends and WANT to appear with lots of sex-appeal, like there is nothing else they can impress others with. GGs should re-think about this.

We should think about the question: when we prepare our female clothes, which appearance do we choose - do we like to be like a woman or do we like to be the woman, we would like as males? From our "twinned" point of view, we should be more aware of emancipation...

Most were fine, as works of art and for doing the club scene. Probably the intended use.

One or two might have been alright for everyday wear, if you can handle them that high.

Cute but not working for me either.
Still keep to the 2.5 heels and even Maryjane flats.

Call me old-fashioned, fashion-challenged, unstylish or just plain frumpy, but all 20 of those shoes IMO were about as hideously ugly as you can get.
