Homecoming of sorts

Post by Steffie »

Hi girls,

Well last week I went up North and for three of the days I was able to squeeze in some Steffie time. I was in NYC and NJ but the real special time came my second day when I went to my former hometown, Philadelphia, as Steffie. That was something I always dreamed of: dressing in my hometown, a place where as a child I would fantasize about dressing.

Anyway, about my complete trip:

My friend Stephanie graciously let me stay at her house during this time. I was visiting family in Philadelphia before this (in male mode of course) but obviously had no way of dressing there. However, this way I could. I just told my family I was visiting friends in NJ which was not really a lie at all.

First day

The first day I wore a pair of aqua ladies' shorts along with a cute halter top paired with sandals. First I went to a nail salon (across the street from where I used to work believe it or not) and got my nails done along with a pedicure. I then went to a favorite restaurant and had lunch there (a place where I had lunch many times the last few years in NJ while in male mode). No one recognized me. Later in the day I had dinner with my TG friends Melissa and Stephanie. Afterwards Melissa and I went to a mall and did some shopping.

Second day

This was the special day for me although all the days were really good. I wore jean Capris along with an orange top with sandals and drove back to Philadelphia from North Jersey. I've always heard in the past from some TG friends that they were a bit antsy about going directly in Philly. However I cautiously went there. I had dinner at an Italian restaurant in South Philadelphia (at a place where I had dinner there 3 days earlier in male mode to boot). To make it more interesting I even had the same waitress from 3 days ago. However 3 days ago I was with my family and didn't say much. However, the waitress didn't show any signs of recognizing me which was good. The wig obviously helped. She was very nice too and even called me "sweety." :) Afterwards she even took a picture of me in the restaurant which was nice. To be safe though I paid with cash just so no one would see my real last name on the card.

Afterwards I then went first to my old neighborhood where I grew up and then to the Manayunk area; I walked until about early evening on Main Street and also by the canal they have there. I even got to walk for a few minutes in the neighborhood where I grew up. It was a very happy experience: walking in the city where a few years back I had never even dressed but always dreamed of doing so. I guess you can say it was a homecoming of sorts. :) I then went back to NJ during the evening. To me it seems like "coming full circle" when you can be a girl in a place where you grew up never having dressed before (except in your mind of course).

Third day

This day was also nice. I wore a pink sleeveless dress with some cute sandals. I first went to breakfast with Stephanie and then to a mall in NJ and then finally later my friend Melissa and I went into New York. I got to do some shopping at Macy's. I actually got my wife a couple of outfits to bring back to here in NC and even found a nice skirt for me. I then went to ladies shoes and actually found a couple pairs of peep toe pumps in my size. Both places, the sales people were very friendly and helpful. One woman who worked there told me they sometimes have a CDer whop comes all the way from Boston just to shop there discreetly. I told her I now live in NC but always liked Macy's. Melissa shopped at a store called Conway's near Macy's.

During the evening we went to a Lesbian club (Henrietta's). We had a great time and stayed until closing. I even ran into a couple of GG's there who remembered me from a couple of years ago; that was nice of them to remember me. I danced most of the night away and then we went home in the wee hours of the morning.

Anyway that's my femme trip part. Nothing spectacular or anything like that but for me that second day made it all worthwhile. :)

Thanks for reading.

That is such a trip, Steffie, to walk the streets of your old hometown! Walking in my little village in Ohio would get some attention, I'm afraid, but I did go to Dayton as a gal, and that was also very satisfying. Dayton was a city where I had spent a lot of boy-time as a teen.

I liked the pictures from the second day, maybe because I know they have some extra nostalgia behind them.

Wow sounds like you had a great time! :)

I have never really been out dressed. Working on the courage.

I can piture myself going through my home town dressed and that would be great fun I think. Glad you got to do it.
Every act of kindness is repaid, in some small way some where in the future even if we do not see it at the time. Look at it as a spiritual form of compound interest
