Interesting encounter

So my wife and i are out of town for a long girls weekend away and we go to the Casino. We start playing and of course she is winning and I'm not -- so I leave the table and go over to the atm to get some more cash. I use my regular debit/ATM card 9with my male name, punch in my PIN and the machine tells me its out of money but is printing me a receipt that i can cash in at the Casino cashier. So, off I go to get my cash.

Now understand --no wig involved here --I have a short pixie cut (my natural hair that i can comb back in guy mode) so its just me enfemme and in my best enfemme voice I hand the young lady my receipt and ask for my cash. We exchange pleasantries and she asks for my driver's license. I say sweetly that I don't have it with me. She ponders this for a minute and says that she really needs to see some kind of picture id --which of course i don't have. So again I tell her I don't have any with me -- and she explains she really has to have something or she will need to get a supervisor to figure out what to do. At which point I say very softly as I pull out my male id and the credit card -- "OK hon--please be kind to me"....and i smile at her and hand her the card. She looks down at the ID, studies it for second, then looks back at me and asks me if that's my husband!

I tell her no hon, that's me. She looks down briefly at the id again, and says "ok Mrs. xxxx, weill if you could just sign for your husband -- his name by Mrs.xxxx, I'll get you the money." So I did and she handed me the ID and the money and then said "You and your husband have a nice evening Mrs.xxxx!" I told her thank you and left ---and headed straight to the bar for a very strong drink.

Since then I have been trying to figure out if she was just the coolest cashier on the planet, or chose to go with an easy out becasuse she didnt know what else to do, or she just didn't get it. She was about 25-27 and never was anything other than pleasant. My guess is that she is the coolest cashier on the planet.

BTW-I broke even the rest of the night which I view as a win!!

Yeah! breaking even is what I refer to as cheap entertainment!

As for the cashier, my thought would be she did not have a clue but was wise enough not to want to upset a customer and her response was to respond to a male and female with the same last name = husband and wife!

What just boggles my mind is that the computer issued you a, a, a, what? That would allow you to convert it to cash!? If you ID got into the wrong hands with something like that they would clean you out in a heart beat!
Maybe it is just a variation on a theme for a casino, but I have never heard of anything like that!

Anyway, glad you where able to drive home and not have to "thumb it!"

Melyssa, it does not really matter how she took it as it went ok.

I always use my male ID, CC's and check book when enfemme and have had no problems. Have had some interesting looks and questions. Just remember that you are doing nothing wrong, look at them and smile as you hand it to them. No need for any explanation.
