some great ideas shared here.....i shave my hands and fingers.....not a lot of hair there but it can get long.....since i started shaving them no one has ever commented and i have never caught anyone looking closely.
i do have hair on my forearms but i use a trimmer to keep if short. in the winter i shave my arms completely - i like the feel and i especially like the look.

Just started shaving my arms
and have been shaving my legs every winter. this is my first time to have both my arms and legs shaved for summer. I love how it feels, my SO not so crazy about it. I do not plan to do electrolosis, so is there any other way to slow down the growth so I do not have to shave so much?

shaving
Hi, Over numerous years I have found that using an epilator the hair growth is almost zero, it takes time and patience but the end result is smooth & hairless (especially on your boobs and legs -stubble free)
Keeping them cupped comfortably.

I've undergone electrolysis for most of my facial hair. What remains the most visible is the hair at the bony part of the chin (slow going here because electrolysis at bony structures hurts more). Otherwise I shave my underarms so they stay silky, my forearm hair only when black hairs begin to slow (otherwise, short fair blond hair can be okay), the few hairs that grow out on the tops of my big toes, my legs from ankle to "all the way up" and genitalia. I just pluck out the 2 or 3 chest hairs and those weird hairs that seem to sprout overnight around my nipples. And I pluck my eyebrows to shape them.
It sounds like a lot, but it really isn't a lot of maintenance, since my hair growth is slow, fair, and the follicle shafts are pretty thin. My heart goes out to those folks with heavy, coarse, dark hair and back hair. I can only imagine the difficulty with that.
Cheers!

Re: shaving
Pat, I wish I could say the same. Epilating my chest did make the hairs less coarse, but the ingrown hairs were terrible to the point I have quit doing it. Also while the hairs are less coarse, I now have many double hair follicle which may be one reason for the ingrown hairs. I also could not keep up with the growth with out epilating every day. Yea hair is one of my less feminine features.Pat wrote:...Over numerous years I have found that using an epilator the hair growth is almost zero, it takes time and patience but the end result is smooth & hairless (especially on your boobs and legs -stubble free)

I commented on another post about how cold legs feel after shaving. Then I got thinking about when I taught college courses that the women in my classes where always cold. Then when I would increase the tempature the men would complain about the heat. It was hard to find a happy medium. Tonite, years later it dawned on me... Body hair. Women have less and of course other shaved areas wouldn't help.. DUH!
Guess if my legs had been shaved then I would have figured it out. Of course that doesn't explain my wife's cold feet!
I believe I was a lesbian in my past life

I have solved the problem of cold shaven legs in winter is to wear kneehigh
60 or 70denier stockings. In the winter I wear mine just about everyday.

do you find shaving gives you terrible rash and in grown hairs?
i really hate shaving especially legs and bikini especialyy that last one. my body just loathes it.
only shave now for special occasions or where to stop it getting unmanagable.
I have quite hairy arms for a girl
its blond though but my partner laughs i have hairier arms than him and i love them.
I think about never ever shaving again sometimes as i find it so uncomfortable and i look bald and weird but sometimes its good to shave some parts to keep cleanly and managable and stuff & cas its so rare its a novelty for H. my body really hates shaving though get awful red itchy marks

I shave everything from the ears down. My wife and I have both discussed LHR, we just don't have the funds for it right now. I'm thinking of setting up a savings account for it. If I had my way I would defiantly be fully hairless from the ears down.
It may be in another thread, or I missed here....But, has anyone had any experience or success with having a professional waxing?

I used to get waxed regularly from the neck down. It is very effective, though being poorly hydrated can cause hairs to break rather thank being pulled out cleanly. Exfoliating properly for several days leading up to waxing also improves results.Theresa_W wrote:It may be in another thread, or I missed here....But, has anyone had any experience or success with having a professional waxing?
The biggest drawbacks are: that you need to let hair regrow for several weeks before waxing again, and that it's fairly expensive to keep up. In the long run laser is probably more cost-effective, and that last week before getting re-waxed was awkwardly furry.
