our nails

Post by Virginia »

Read an article that says if we wear nail polish and it begins to chip or just come off, use polish remover to take it all off and start over. That includes what a lot of us wear, the clear?! If you "bite" it off or pull the dried coats off, it damages the top layer of your nail and makes it difficult to grow nice nails. So buy that big bag of cotton balls and lots of Cutex polish remover and use it!!!! [-o<

I've never heard of people removing polish by biting

I wonder how common it is for them to post a warning against it?

I've been taking care of mine here recently, more so than I've ever done before, keeping them polished, vitamin b oiling them at night, clear coating them and whatnot, I can see a big change in their appearance.

Maybe they'll grow out so I can keep from spending a fortune on fake nails. :D

I guess the term "biting" was inappropriate. After a few days, my polish tends to begin to shed, if you will, like little pieces of cellophane and I sometimes pull them off with my teeth. No more! I guess buying stock in Cutex might be a good idea as I will be using a lot of that now!

As an after thought, when painting our real nails and some gets on the skin how do you remove it without tearing whats on you nail or making it look ragged? Of course clear polish isn't a problem.

I made up a " jig " to put my false nails on to paint them, this way I can do other things while the nail polish dries without messing up the polish. I never get polish on my fingers this way. Have made up 10 sets of nails of different colors.

I tend not to wear varnish if I'm going androgynous but as also a goth i wear black nail varnish alot but and maybe it is my boyish can't be arsedness I bite my nails loads and chip of the varnish etc.

its nit that bad for the nail whats really retarded is chipping bits of it off then when you're bored in lectures drawing ink in the gaps then painting over that later.....it will make your nails perminantly yellow and you have to wait for them to grow out . it does not look good.

I was out to diner the other night with some of my lady friends, when one of them ask me where did I have my nails done.
I said that I had done that afternoon, and applied 2 coats of clear nail polish. The comment was that they were very well trimmed and shaped, I must admit that I felt rather pleased with the result also. =D> =D>
Keeping them cupped comfortably.
