New girl....

Post by LisaReid »

Well, not really, I've had a thing about 'dressing up' as long as I can remember, but have managed to keep it quiet. I'm happily married and intend to keep it that way so would love to get some advice from people in a similar position - especially hearing the wife's side. It's also great fun (maybe I shouldn't admit that!) and being 'en-femme' gives me a great inner calm. I suppose that you all know what I mean.

Hello Lisa,

Hope you can find time to read some of the previous posts about "your situation." We have a lot of opinions and results of those in and out of the closet!

Hope you stay and participate.

I think we have the same questions. I'll certainly be looking for answers and seems like this is a good place to find them.

Actually, I’m not always sure what crossdressers mean when they say things like that, but I made an interesting discovery two or three months ago. Based on my annual medical checkup and the tests that entails, my doctor reported (at the follow-up visit) that my blood pressure and LDL (cholesterol) both were “borderline high,” which was a bit of a shock to me, as my readings before had always been within the desirable range. We decided that I would try making some lifestyle adjustments (some moderate aerobic exercise daily and a reduced fat, reduced sodium diet), and that we would reevaluate in three months, to see if prescription medications might be required. So I bought a blood pressure monitor at Wal-Mart, took morning and late evening readings every day, and ate more fresh vegetables and less fast-food items. The elevated readings might have been due to some stresses or other special circumstances, or maybe they did reflect insufficient exercise and too rich a diet; however, one way or the other, my LDL and blood pressure readings dropped into the desirable ranges over that three-month period.

The most interesting thing, though, was that right from the start my blood pressure reading ran about 10 points (mmHg) lower on evenings when I crossdressed than on evenings when I did not. (Individual readings vary from day to day, but the averages clearly showed lower readings on CDing days.) I wonder if that subjective feeling of “inner calm” might not have some more objective conditions associated with it.
Take care,

Jamie Ann

Gee I get that inner calm feeling as well. If dressing drops my blood pressure maybe I could get off the meds if I dressed all of the time. :)

I feel the same; but totally from non-technical reading. But I'm sure if you put the cuff on me, the score would be lower when dressed in tulle, satin and lace. rr

I work in a highly stressful sales environment. The guy at at the station next to me wears a blood pressure monitor on a regular basis, before his frequent checkups. My supervisor, 10 years younger than me, is on a strict regimen due to a minor heart attack. At my recent check up, two weeks ago, my blood pressure was 120/72.

I attribute this to two things; bicycle riding and cross dressing on a regular basis.

The connection? Well, doing both seriously involves shaving your legs.

So the answer then, dear sisters, is obvious. Keep those legs shaved, and all will be well! :^o
