Breast Form and Bra Sizing

Post by MariaJ »

Hello Ladies,
this is my first post here and I am looking for a bit of help. I need to know how to select the proper size of breast form for my body and also select a properly sized bra. I have read everything from "band size = chest measurement" to "add 4 inches to your chest measurement to get your band size". I understand the whole cup sizing thing, it's just the band size that has me a bit confused. My chest measures about 40" around its widest part and I would like to be a C cup. I think that would balance out my moderately broad shoulders. I am 5'9" and weigh 150 if it matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was about that size in high school, with wide swimmers shoulders.

I would suggest a B cup would suit your size better.

As for band size. Stick with the actual measurement of 40". You could, however, wear a 38C with B size forms.

Heck, at 5'9" and 235 lbs, I still prefer a B cup.

Thanks a bunch! Now that you mention it, I think I remember my ex-wife wearing a 38B or something like that and her bras fit me. Cool!

MariaJ,
I wear a 38 C with my forms and the wife tells me they are fine and not to large.
Now I did call the BFS and talked to a sales lady and told her I am 5' 8" at about 180#. She ask me what I was looking far and how large I wanted to be etc. and I order #5 which is a wonderful full size C.

Now if the wife said they are OK and happy about it I am happy. *-*

You'll want to consider the profile of your male breasts also. If you have a lot of tissue there, either flab or muscular pecs, you may need to subtract a size.

Breast forms

Post by PhylissH »

I am 6' 3" at about 180 I just got new forms that make me a 38 D my old ones were 36/38 C, so not sure how I will do with them yet. My out fit for saturday is a fairly figure form fitting one. this will only be my second time out since getting them.

So I first decide what size I want to be, then select a breast form, then pick a bra, right? Thanks for all the replies ladies! The help is much appreciated.

Maria,

I am 5'9" about 20lbs and my chest mesures a 39". I wear a 44 band size and, with advice wear a C cup. My forms I got from The Breast Form Store and fit nicely. I went with the advice of bra meauring online and went up the 5" to get my band size. I can not imagine wearing a 40 band size for my build. It would be too tight and that would not be comforable. Go to Walmart and get a couple of differnt sizes and see what band size fits best, the are cheep there and for a fit if you do not wish to try on there, would work. Let us know what you do.

Well, I purchased a 40B and 40C and they both fit perfectly as far as band size goes. So for me, it's a direct conversion; however, I realized I have been measuring around the fullest part of my chest, not my ribcage. It seemed to work though. I don't have my ribcage measurement so I can't really tell you what the difference is, but it is definitely there. Anyway, as for cup size, C it is!!
