Please respond with your opinions on this and if the majority want the information posted, i.e., location by either/or city, state, country it will be submitted to the "powers that be" for final determination. I would also propose that there be no grandfathering either.

V,
I think that the wonderful feeling of security, privacy, and anonimity (sp) which has been created here over the years by all of the members and admin's is comforting to everyone. Providing any additional info, and/or images should be a personal choice and left to the comfort level of each member. This has been such a wonderful place for me, and I sure everyone else, to come and "share" in so many ways that I would hate to lose anyone who felt they had to "share" too much about themselves.
All the best,
Rikki

The members country should be posted at the very least
There can be a slight language barrier between our different countries , I try to be mindful of this when posting.
A simple example is temprature , if I said I sweltered at 39 degress you would think I was nuts in the U S , so by knowing that most members are from the U S I would post as "39 degrees (C) = 100 degrees (F) approx.
If I type in the word "colour" , this is spelled "color" in other parts of the world so if I didn't have my country listed I could be accused of spelling errors.

Merinda, I agree with you comments, as I find that when you relate to thing like climate, temperature, and spelling etc. it just proves how far this website covers across this plant.

I think it would be nice if the city, state or country was posted by the members, only so you would know where they are from when chatting with them. It's nice to find someone from your hometown or where you once lived and know you have something in common. But I understand the reluctance of some members in doing so.

Hi ladies,
I was so paranoid when I came here the first time that there is no way I would have signed up had it been required to publish where I live. I am against anything that may keep people away who are in need of support.
Even admitting to oneself that one is a crossdresser or transgendered in any way, can cause a great deal of anxiety. It was the non threatening nature of this place that I found attractive. It was anonymous and only gave out the information one wanted to make public.
If people want to tell us where they are from, they can already do that. I don't find it necessary to make it required.
Love always,
Elizabeth

I am going to have to go with the ones who wish to not be divulge where they are. April Rose and Elizabeth are right, some may not even register on our site if it was mandatory to do so. We all have felt or feel some hesitancy in telling others of crossdressing and so where we live is ours to keep to ourselves untill we can feel comfortable to share this information. We are here to have a sisterhood and lend a comforting word or two. It does not matter were we all are but that we are out there and in neeed of advice and comfort and friendship.
I have found a couple of friends and am glad for it.
Lets not have to
others and possibly not let them share in our good fortune!!

I still can't see why this poses a threat to ones privacy , statistically you would have more chance of being struck by lightning 10 times in one day than being able to identify someone by declaring their country.
Members should carefully consider their avatar and posting photo's if they have an issue with privacy.

I like to have a general idea where people are (which corner of a state for example), but I can see how people from Rhode Island, or countries the size of Liechtenstein, might feel more vulnerable than those from Alaska or China.
I got hung up on the notion of the word "require". I agree with Elizabeth (no surprise there), and so while I think we should ask, we should not require such information as a prerequisite to participation.
Hugs,
Bernice

I don't mind approximating my location. It's always fun to know just a little about a poster's environment, especially if they are overseas. Yet some people might not want to disclose anything. So if you require it, those people will just make up something. That weakens the credibility of ALL locations.
Encourage it, but don't require it.
