Clearing posts - Answered
Is it ever OK to request that your post be cleared. I would consider trying to have my wife see this site but believe she would have issues with my participation without her knowledge. As you can see from my past post she is not OK with any CD activity.

Hi, Charlie -
We do not encourage that posts be deleted, or their contents, as that disrupts the flow of the topic(s) in question. It is also not fair to everyone else who has posted in that topic, either before or after you, or to anyone in the future who may read that topic.
All members have the ability to delete their post . . . provided no one has posted after them in that topic (such as I am with you now). In that case, the member (you) may only delete the contents of their post and their post 'place marker' remains (user name, avatar, etc.). The decision of whether to delete the place marker would reside with the Mod(s) for that section, or the Site Admin, and then my first paragraph (above) comes into play.
That being said, while we encourage you to invite your wife to visit and/or join the forum, if you feel that she would be unhappy/upset with your participation here without her prior knowledge and/or consent, then you have some decisions to make. Some of them include:
(a) don't let your wife know that you have joined the forum, but direct her here for information ("hey, honey, you should check out this web site I found . . .");
(b) don't let your wife know your user name;
(c) change your user name to one that she would not associate with you . . . however, only the Site Admin has the ability to change user names, so PM me directly for this request;
(d) have a heart-to-heart talk with your wife (not to her) and be honest with her, let her know you've joined the forum, that Charlie/Carly is an important part of who you are. Reach a compromise on what you may/may not do, if you must, but don't give in or issue ultimatums . . . remember that compromise is always a 2-way street, with give and take on both sides.
Most importantly, remember our motto here: Baby Steps, Honey; Baby Steps.
