finally stepped out

Post by Mary Ellen »

I finally did it. There was a support group meeting last night that started at 7:30 pm and I was determined to attend my 2nd one properly attired. Which meant that I had to leave the house by 6:45 pm to be there on time. Here in the west the sun didn't go down till 8:50pm. Well, here I was all dressed up in a nice new outfit and a place I wanted to go to. I even shaved my legs. I stepped out side, locked the house door and casually walked to my truck, hopped in, did up my seat belt and safely drove to the meeting in broad daylight. I get to the address of the meeting and find the back door won't open. So I had to saunter thru a fast food parking lot that had a few customers to get onto a busy street and sidewalk and walk a few doors to the front door of the bldg that housed our meeting. I never realized just how exhilarating it is to cross dress in public. After the meeting we went to a small bub for nachos and a beverage. One of my neighbors had have seen a tall woman leave my place then drive away in my pick up. This will not be the last time I go out. :P

Congratulations! It really is exhilarating and it's amazing how easy and comfortable it can be once you get past the initial jitters. Best wishes for your next outing.

Hi Mary Ellen--
That's a big deal, to be out in the daytime in the beginning. I started attending meetings in the winter, but eventually those 8 pm meetings were also in day light!

As for the neighbors--I just had to shrug my shoulders on that one. There was no way to leave unseen, so they got used to seeing a familiar-looking woman wave to them as she went by.

Congratulations Mary Ellen!!!!

Just never forget that when you go out you are an ambassador for all of us. In most every situation, if you present and act as a lady that is exactly how you will be treated!

It just keeps getting better, I assure you!

The first time out fully dressed is a big step but once you've done it there's no turning back. It's just the best feeling there is. I think your neighbours are probably going to see a lot more of that "tall woman in the pick-up truck."

WOOOHOOO.....All right. See it's was not the end of the world and no one seem to notice or care. I remember the first time I went out in the daylight world fully dressed. At first a little scared, but after a little while I realized that no one was staring at me and from that point on, it has been great. That was 5 years ago. today I go out dressed by myself and many times with my wife.
wait until you out fully dressed and someone says, "Thank you Mam and come again' or 'Welcome Mam to .....". It is such a thrill to be address that way and have them treat you as the person the see in front of them.
