I wore my new spring/summer dress to the nail salon today. The helm is about 3 inches above my knee. I had to be very aware of how I was sitting, standing, getting in/out of the salon chair and even getting in/out of the car. When you wear slacks, jeans, caprices, you don't worry about how you do these things. But wearing a dress, you have to be aware or you can end up showing others something they really don't want to see.
I do love my new spring/summer dress and plan on wearing more this spring/summer, so I am going to have to learn a new skill set. LOL

Joking aside, glad to know you had a great time!
I much prefer dresses/skirts to slacks/jeans when dressing up, but there is a time and place for both.

A nail salon?? Well this country girl dresses to go to the local dump. 
Living where we do there is no trash pick up so we have to carry it to the nearest stream and dump our garbage in ------------------------------------- JUST KIDDING!!!! THAT WAS JUST A JOKE!!!!! REALLY!
Anyway, it is about 6 miles. We have been doing some spring cleaning, and earlier in the week, I had on my mini and cami and decided to "make the run." When I got there there were five cars (most I have ever seen) parked around the two dumpsters. I waited while three of the cars left but two were evidently not going to go any time soon, so I pulled up right in front of one young lady who was busily cleaning out her car and had the access blocked. I got out, took my boxes, squeezed between her door and the dumpster and deposited our stuff. She looked up at me, smiled, like she was saying, "I'm an idiot so just ignore me!" The two guys and the girl emptying the pick -up checked me out and I know had to be asking themselves, "what's a blond in a mini-skirt doing here?"
Yesterday, the place was initially empty and I wore white slacks, heels and a sexy, low cut blouse. As I was depositing our last bag, a pick-up pullled in and this kinda scary guy gets out and sees me, does a triple take and starts walking toward me. I was in the truck quickly, waved, smiled and he stopped, smiled back and I was out of there. A girl can sense when things are "not as they should be."
Nail salon huh? gotta try that too!

You can not be too careful. Here in Dallas, two Drag Queens got assaulted when they came out of the club they worked at. Bad news for the guy that TRIED to assault them. When the Dallas police arrived, they found him neatly ducked taped to the bumper of their car and the two DQ sitting on the hood talking and filing their nails.

I knew I had a problem when my Nail tech asked if I would like a towel across my legs even when I was trying to keep my knees locked together. I have seen a few women in the nail salon sitting in a Ped chair with a towel across their legs. Now I fully understand.
I also got a lot of very positive comments about my dress too. I had two ladies ask me where I bought it. That just made my heart go pitter-pat.
Virginia........you will love going to a Nail Salon dressed. I have been going to mine for 4 years and a year ago I went dressed. It was funny. My nail tech comes up and says...Hi, starts to say my male name then stops and just stares at me. I say "JoAnn". she does not miss a beat and says out loud "Hi JoAnn, nice to see you again". Now all the techs turn their head and look my way, then smiles at me. When I went in to get my eye brows waxed they all came in to say hello and see the NEW me. Since then I have been just one of the girls. In fact they now ask me questions that they would not normally ask a man but would ask a woman. Now I know I am just one of the girls.
