Louisiana?

Post by WendyC »

Hi everyone! Looks like I might be moving to Louisiana in the near future. Not sure of the town but Gonzales was mentioned. Can the Louisiana girls tell me about the attitude towards CD's and if TG support groups are accessible. Thanks for any information----Wendy

Hi Wendy and hugs,
Gonzales, about 15 or so minutes south of Baton Rouge ( great city) and about an hour north of New Orleans.
I lived in New Orleans for 30 years and things are so much different then up north you will have to take it slow to ajust.

We have a sister who lives in B.R. (Lana) , find her in the members list and send her a PM and I am sure she can help you out a lot.
Honey all I can tell you is Louisana is a whole new world, I know N.O. is very CD friendly but no Tri-Ess groups in the area.

Kyra belong to a support group in Slidell and she can give you information about it. Ask Lana about support in B.R.
Sweetheart if you like good food Louisiana has it all, trust me.
Do a Google on Gonzales, La. as there is a ton of information there.

Me I miss Louisiana but prefer a little cold now and again as to nothing but HOT and humid and the stink of the oil refinerys.

Best of luck ^@^

Hi Wendy,
I was a member of the Gulf Gender Alliance for a short time.

But they have given up due to poor member support. Officially, they closed their doors earlier this year. The New Orleans GLBT center may still have some support for Crossdressers.

That's about all the support options I know of.

As Carol Ann stated, Gonzales is a nice area. I hope you like seafood! It's plentiful and cheap! The big downfall of Southern Louisiana is the humidity. It doesn't get very cold down there (temperature wise), but the humidity makes it feel much worse. Attitudes vary, depending on where you are. You'll just have to "feel out" the area you move to.

I'll be heading back for a short vacation to see my family this summer. If you need/ want any info. Let me know.

If you've ever moved before, you know the perils of relocating. Video is best for documenting anything valuable. It makes dealing with Insurance companies a little easier. Personally, I hate moving. Sometimes it's necessary, but I don't ever want to do it again. I wish you the best of luck in your move.

I'm just a PM away, if you have other questions.

Hugs,
Kyra
