Playtex Girdles
Remember the rubber Playtex girdles of the 50's? They really held ya in. I loved the smell of the rubber which got me interested in kinky latex wear but, that's another story. As I recall they were a little warm to wear. All the stuff I really like is no longer available. Sure makes me regret all of the purges.

I was a Berlei girl, I am lucky I still have 3 of my favourite girdles still in their boxes. Saving them for a special day.

Playtex girdles continued
Ladies...
My feelings and experiences wearing Playtex girdles.
In response to the post...I too, am a Playtex person. I just do not feel properly dressed without a “good” girdle. I wear many different brands; I really like the Playtex offerings but my preference is the 18 hour high waist long leg style, followed by the ICBIAGG, also high waist long leg and a truly great (but very tight..at least to me) double diamonds high waist long leg. I have an extensive collection of girdles, ranging from: Rago, VaBien, Flexees, Miraclesuit, Cortland, and when available on eBay, Subtract. And for special occasion wear, I like the Custom Maid 299 and the 612 (both being super controlling and provides a very firm shape). One of my all time favorites was Cupid Duotrol, which had a 4" hi waist, double self reinforced panels for the tush , hips and triple reinforced tummy panel...crushingly tight when first putting it on but after 10-15 minutes, super smooth and firm but very comfortable even after 10 hours.
Back to Playtex…My first choice for everyday wear is Playtex, all high waist styles.. The 18 hr being the first choice. A little hot in the summertime, but it holds me in very well and really firms up the jiggles. I find it comfortable for 18 hours of actual wear. The I can’t believe girdle is also a great choice. I really like the firmness it provides and when worn with stockings and a skirt or dress in the summer very comfortable. If you have never experienced the ICBIAG, when you first take it out of the box…you will likely say: “No Way” will this do anything…but…will you be surprised. Very nice…very light very comfortable…and very controlling…it’s so comfortable, after a few minutes, you will not even feel the tightness….all you will feel great. With both of these girdles I almost always wear panties (under the girdle); this is just a personal preference of mine. The Playtex double diamonds is extremely firm and controlling. Very tight while putting it on; and after it’s on, you really know you are wearing a girdle….tight but tolerable, at least for a while. For me, sometimes all I can tolerate is 8-10 hours. After this time it just pinches and feels uncomfortable…still very controlling though. Perhaps I should try and wear it longer as I really like what it does for the old tummy and tush.
The old rubber Playtex, like the golden girdle panty style, I thought was fantastic. The first time I ever had a chance to try one on was at my Aunts house. Everyone had gone to a neighbor’s house for a “hen party” and I remained behind saying the I had stomach cramps and needed to use the bathroom. I had adjourned to the bathroom upstairs and hanging on the drying rack was the prize….the long leg pull on style, with the flocked lining. I just had to give it a try. After getting undressed, I stepped into it and slowly started to pull it up. The feeling was indescribable…it felt firm but flexible and the more I worked it up, the better it felt. All the advertisements I had read were correct…I looked like I had lost at least 10 pounds….gone was my tummy bulge….the girdle had the tricot inner thighs and split crotch, which felt wonderful against me. And after a minute or so more of gently tugging and pulling I had it on and adjusted to me. I put on the stockings that were also hanging on the drying rack and fastened them to the garters inside the legs. I looked at myself in the mirror…I looked wonderful and I also felt wonderful….under control with no bulges or jiggles. It’s no wonder women like to wear a girdle. I kept the girdle on for as long as I dared….I hated to have to take it off…..I was able to wear it for almost 20 minutes. However, I did eventually take it off….and even after this brief period of wear, I felt flabby and loose and wished I could keep it on all day. On another occasion, I did have the opportunity to wear the same girdle again….this time I was able to keep it on for almost all day, with stockings. What a feeling…no wonder my Aunt always looked her best….especially when she wore this girdle. My only regret is having to undress….I feel flabby, especially thru the tummy area…but perhaps this is just me…. Maybe someone will bring back the Playtex line again…at least the 18 Hr style and maybe the I cant believe its a girdle as well…I can always hope.
I also have an extensive collection of longline bras. My current favorite is the Elilia front hook style....I have a muffin top issue that needs much help. I also wear the Goddess style. This is my reason for the high waist girdle and longline bra combination. It simply works for me.

Besides wearing panties under mine I would also include panty hose. The combination flattens out the important areas besides slimming you down.
Unless you are in an A/C controlled environment, the heat and humidity make wearing them a bit uncomfortable here in Florida.
Covers mid-rift bulge quite nicely. Most of the girdles I loved always caused girdle roll down. I had to go with the boned hi-waist. I've never been able to replace the ones I loved.This is my reason for the high waist girdle and longline bra combination. It simply works for me.

iI have to be in the right mood to wear these. Sometimes they feel pleasantly snug and comorting. Other days they feel confining, and on bad days they make my back sore. I think they compress the muscle too much and limit blood flow. It really changes on a day to day basis.
Currently I have a shirt shaper. It goes by the name of tummy licious or something and I think I got it at macys. Sometimes if's very comfortable and does great things for my upper figure. Also a "fat free dressing" control cami that is similar. I also have a couple of boned corsets and on OBG that are pleasant to wear on the right day.
When I was a child my mom had a very long corset/bustier with garters that was the ultimate in luxury. I think she probably wore it once to something like the Viennese Opera Ball in The City.
I don't like panty girdles. The package gets overly confined and below the waist my figure is just fine anyway, thank you.
As I've said here more often than neccesary, most days my favorite outfit is a form fitting womans tee, a simple skirt, and a few underthings. The sort of thing you can weed the garden in.
I've read in many places that CDers, as opposed to transexuals, often really like tight confining garments. I remember as a child reading lingerie advertisements and words like control or shaping used to really excite me. Perhaps there is something about being controlled by our clothes. Another explanation that resonates with me is that these things feel like my clothes are hugging me.
Whatever. Enjoy your sartorial splendor ladies.

Zari, you've certainly hit on something in talking about liking tight confining garments and the magic effect of words like control or shaping.
As baseball badboy Billy Martin said once, I feel very strongly both ways. I too resonate to language about control and shaping (despite being on principle opposed to social control and control freaks), and love to see the effects tight clothing can have on a woman. And I do like wearing a girdle, stockings, garters etc., not to mention the wonderful sensation of a taut bra.
On the other hand, apart from these, I rarely like to wear anything tight. No tight tops, only one or two pencil skirts. Partly this is because I get hot suddenly, sweat and it takes a long time to cool down.
(Right, just like a hot flash. It's a scientific fact: older men can be subject to something very like a hot flashes.)
So my wardrobe is full of duds that are loose, cool, flowing and non-clingy.
I agree: for tight lingerie, let alone breast forms, A/C is crucial in hot weather. Here's to the scientist who figures out how to make breast forms that never build heat higher than 98.6 degrees.
Where the weather's hot, the best ever under-top is a cami-bra. I've built quite a collection of those to cope with the ever hotter weather.
