I bought my first bra with my wife at Kohls. Before that I was wearing hers.
Our body stature is different so it did not really work well.
I sure understand the size thing alot more now than I did before.
I guess I was thinking it was like tires and all the size was like the proportionate value equal to the final size.
Boy was I wrong!

It was a training bra
Hi
I just joined up here and when I saw this topic, I just had to add to it even though it looks to be old.
My first bra of my very own was bought almost 39 years ago as of the date of this posting. Exact date was 5 February 1971
Unfortunately they just don't make them like they used to. Back when I was a teenage boy in the 70s and certainly before then in the 60s training bra were really special .. and one of the best things was the fact that the box usually had a picture of a pretty little girl on it and I could imagine that I was her. Plus there was a certain ritual about getting your first training bra -- even you where a boy and getting it for yourself. I guess there are a few boys who were lucky enough to have mom who bought them a training bra, but there aren't many, and sadly I wasn't one of them.
I got my first training bra when I was 13. It was on the 5th of February 1971. I had been wearing my younger sister's panties for a while and decided to get my own panties. I remember, that I hadn't planned to buy a training bra, but rather just three pair of panties. I went to bed the night before all nervous about it. And then, in the store, as I looked over the wonders before me, I was caught up in emotion and -- before I knew it I had a Teencharm 071 in my hands, and was buying it. I then hurried home, and there I was trying it on, and saying those immortal words, 'It really is me!'
A month later I bought my second one and it was a Teenform Pretty Please,. I was so happy that I found one on ebay last year that I can wear now. Really cool thing about them are the "gro-cups" since they really do fill out and make it look like you have breasts!
Of course, my mum would find my stash, punish me, and destroy them, but I'd be back doing it again. Naturally I wore the same styles as the girls in my school, girls my age wore.
I try to collect vintage training bras and panties -- plus various ads and catalogs from the 60s and 70s too.
Is there anyone else around my age, 52, who also wore a training bra when they were a teen

Hi Sisters,
Ohh! My first bra! How fondly I remember it. It was so pretty!
I don't know if I've ever had a nicer one. I must have bought it around 1974 or 5, at a guess. It was a fearful, wonderful secret, and I'm sure my story is like a lot of you, in that it went o.u.t. in a purge.
I still miss it. It was white with blue stitching and had the cutest teeny blue bow no more than 1/3" wide in the very center between the cups. Wish I had it today! ('Course it wouldn't fit now.)
(Long nostalgic moment of sighs)
Love, Robyn Katie

I remember it well. I had seen an ad for tennis related things at Target, and immediately knew I needed a complete, matching outfit. I had always thought women looked absolutely wonderful in a short skirt and sleeveless blouse. But the concept of an ensemble may have just been an excuse to buy my first very own, just for me, set of bra and panties. They couldn't be a heavy duty sports bra and 'modesty shorts'. I got a high cut cotton panty (3 pack) with a cotton wire-free bra because that seemed feminine yet still properly athletic. Also, I secretly fancied that without the wire, the bra just might slip up during a reaching overhand swing. What an exhibitionist - even though I had nothing that would 'pop out', real or artificial. My first forms were polyester batting wrapped in a home made sleeve (stockings just wouldn't keep batting in the right shape).
It was such a great outfit that I never actually took it to the tennis court. I didn't want the blood stains to ruin it when I got pummeled by the racquets of outraged players.

My first new bra was a Playtex "Cross Your Heart" model. I bought it while in college from a store on the main street of my very small college town (I still can't believe I was so brave at the time). I picked that model because I knew the name from advertising and could ask for it with the excuse of buying it for my wife. It was a big step for me because a) it was my first bra purchase, and b) it was my first new article of female clothing. Previously, I had only worn clothes that had been worn by women already, which I think was part of my initial attraction.

First Bra
My first bra was when I was 12. Don't remember the store. When shopping with my mother and she got me this pretty flora training bra and matching panties. Then later I got several others. My mother loved having another daughter. Even my brothers who would tease me, in a nice way like me more as their sister. I am now 60 and still wear bras and panties every day. Love reading how you girls got your first bras.

I knew I needed one and finally bought one
It was a wondeful feeling which will never be repeated. It was all in secret then and a few months I washed one and my wife found it so I had to come out to her. It was accepted and ecently I came out in full to her about panties, nighties etc and my wish to wear a skirt but she is not happy about that so patience is required.

Firs Bra
I Bought my first bra a few months ago from JC Penny on line after reading and measuring I found out that I wear a 38 C; my wife wears a 38 D, a little too much for me. Untill then I always wore what ever was at hand but I had never gone out in public untill now and wanted to be the best that I could be. A nice wig and decent clothes soon followed. I really like to go "shopping" Debbie

I bought my entire first outfit minus shoes at Target about 1996. I still have it and it still fits!
LBD, blck bra and panties, and black pantyhose.
I so love the Little Black Dress look. I think I need a new one!
