Good outing

Post by Chantel(SO) »

My son Gabe had a fun outing yesterday, went over to visit my father which he was dressed as his female side Gabby.I am glad my father still loves my son Gabe as his grandson unconditionalally knowing he is this way.My son is glad he has his grandpa that is supportive. My father's new girlfriend Karen was over too,saw Gabby for the first time and said Gabby looked beautiful.I did tell my father's girlfriend Karen about this before this happened and she understands.

He will have a much better time than those of us that waited until we were a lot older. I am glad to see you are allowing him to blossom.

He came out as a crossdresser 2 years ago and it has been mostly poitive feedback so.My husband and I feel children have the freedom to express themselves. This was the first time he came out to my father's girlfriend Karen.

Being supportive must be a great comfort for your son and is certainly to be preferred to being suppressive and angry. However I feel that caution is needed as well. I think that you are already setting the stage for his future life and an important decision -whether he will continue his life as a girl/woman- is being made already now. I hope you have discussed this with some professional therapist. I don't want to sound too pessimistic and maybe you have already gone through a lot of counseling, but I just wanted to add a remark of concern.
Best wishes,

yeah well hes young no reason to see a therapist unless he wants to talk it further than CDing.
gosh hes very young to be so aware of his gender. It must be good to have such a supportive mum. does he get to dress at school or does no one know there? sounds like a good kid.

Good Question,
Was wondering how things will go at school, going to be very hard on Gabe.

I was 14 when my mon found out, she only let me dress at home and it wasn't until I was 15 that she let me go outside dressed but never to school. Best of luck with things to come 1kiss

shame he can't dress at school. i think formal stuff, school and adverts for kids toys are where very old fashioned sexism still prevail. i mean women wear trousers in most walks of life and its often seen as more professional yet in most schools single sex or mixed girls uniform is usually skirts and boys is trousers. maybe gabe should challenge this when he is a bit older. no reason for undue pressure but you can actually tell your school to suck it if you have your parents support

I am sure he is a nice, respectful and sensitive kid. I think a good number of us CDs are. For you, family and his friends to be supportive as is really good.

Best of wishes to Gabbe and U.
