High heels and pantyhose

Post by Angela Newel »

I have a question for all you ladies. My wife and I have disagree so I thought I would get ya'll opinion.

When wearing open toe shoes, is it ok to wear panty hose or is that a definate nono?

I think it is just fine as long as the toes in the pantyhose are shear. She says never!

Would love your opinion.

It depends on the style of the shoe, eg. how dressy is it? as well as whether or not the stocking/hose has a visible seam and an opaque-ish toe.

I have seen women wear sheer hose with sandals. I think the fact that I noticed means that it is not normally done, and was therefore kinda jarring. I think I may agree with your wife....... Wearing open toed shoes in the winter in our neck of the woods is also very noticable and generally not done. One needs all the warmth they can get, and closed toe pumps and boots are more usual.

Hi, ladies -

When it comes right down to it, wearing hose is really based upon personal preference, regardless of the type of shoes. [-(

Personally, I never wear heels - of any style - without hose because I've never cared for the way the shoes feel sans hose; I always seem to get a blister because my feet always 'stick' to the shoes, but that doesn't happen when I wear hose.

If you are going to wear hose with open-toe (aka peep-toe) shoes, make sure they are sheer hose with sheer toes, that the toe seams are not visible, and try to wear a nude or suntan color to draw less attention. As an example, you would not wear white or ivory hose with black open-toe heels ... you would stand out like a sore thumb. However, if you were to wear nude (or even suntan) color hose with those black open-toe heels, most people would not give you a second glance.

I wear hose with open-toed shoes all the time in cooler weather...as long as they are sheer toe, you are fine...who makes up these rules anyway?

If you wear open toed shoes, you have to wear sandalfoot pantyhose. That's why they are called sandalfoot. What would be the point of sandalfoot pantyhose otherwise?
