dilemma

Post by Absaroka »

I went to the GW boutique today and bought two very nice sweaters. Now I can't decide wether to keep them for myself or give them to my wife for Xmass. What should I do????????????????

The whole family BTW likes shopping at GW. It takes a little more thought than regular stores but has the chance for something a tad unique. Xmass day when we open our presents our daughters in particular take great pride in telling us how little they spent. It's a nice family tradition.

Paula I'm considering doing that, the problem is I like the one that is the most her taste more than the other one. They say married people eventually start to look alike. We have similar taste in clothes, and a number of presents for her started off as presents for me.

GW is Goodwill, which is a cheap used clothing (and other stuff) store found in most towns in the States. Most of the clothing they don't sell here eventually finds it's way to third world countries, although I'm skeptical that they export the prom gowns.

I know what you mean now, we just call them Charity Shops, I am a serious adict, nearly all of both my wardrobes have come from that source. I work in the textile recycling industry (as a consultant) haveing managed the recycling effort of a major charity with a large chain of shops, and then worked with a large commercial textile recycling company. The stock that can't be sold through the shops gets sold to commercial merchants who sort and grade for different outlets, some gets cut for wipers, some goes to fibre reclamation, but most goes for export to developing ecconomies, in our case primarily East Africa.

There is a market for just about everything, but we did find we can sell just about anything, a lot was sold through market traders and commercial second hand clothing shops. We have one near us called the "Frock exchange"

Keep one and give one. That's fair.

Now that you've got her presents in the bag, so to speak, keep an eye out and see if something even better for her comes up in the next week or so.

That is a problem, that you'd both rather have one of the two. Like many gifts between a couple, even if you do give her the sweaters, you may end wearing them more anyway.

I vote you give them both and ask her to share. I'd tell her that you got them with her in mind, but would love to experience them too.

Wasn't long ago my wife and I were browsing one shop, and she couldn't find anything to her liking. She asked if I had found anything, which I did, but didn't admit to straight away.

I kept going back to the blouse trying to decide if I even needed another one even though it was quite cute. I ended up suggesting she try it on, and it's become one of her favorites!

Just speaking for myself, I find women don't appreciate the clothes as much as we do. Yes, they like it and want it apart of their wardrobe but they wear it once and their over it.

I suggest you give her both to show the true spirit of giving. But, keep your eye on them and if your wife is anything like mine in a short time they will both be yours.

Many years ago my wife and I had fun looking through a discount dress catolog. She picked out 3 that she liked and I picked out 3 I liked. When the dresses came we played dress-up both of us trying on all 6 dresses. I'm sure I had more fun than she did. I liked her dresses as much as I liked mine. She put her 3 in her closet and never wore them. Eventually I went into her closet and wore them from time to time and now they are a part of my collection of dresses.
I am a better man as a woman with a woman, than I could ever be as a man with a woman.
