Hello, Everyone! This has been a great month for me. I've been a cross dresser for about 10 years, and during the past month, I met and had dinner with my first "sister" who shares my lifestyle. The purpose of that dinner was to provide me with a "friendly face" and to familiarize me with an GLBT support and social group in a nearby city and to share with me the ground-rules regarding caring for and supporting other members while respecting and protecting their confidentiality. Just this past week, I met with that group, and it was a wonderful experience for me to share time and conversation with those truly nice people. I am a "senior dresser" who has had a rather rigid and "male" couple of careers, and although I've been out on the shopping malls, dining at several restaurants, have traveled by auto enfemme, spent time at hotels by myself, and am "out" to my larger family (but have not dressed with many of them), this month has been like participating in my personal "freedom movement."
I have, over many years, had the opportunity to share in the "integration movement" with Dr. King during the 60's, and the "womens' movement" during the 70's (as a supporter and group participant), and have enjoyed helping others find their own growth during many years of work. Now, I'm having the opportunity to find out more about myself - not only reflect on who I've been, but to find out more about who I really "am," though late in life.
I'm glad to be on this site, and with others who can support me. I've always loved women and the strength and love they have given me. Now I'm enjoying "bringing out the best of my feminine self." I hope I can not only learn from you, but help others of you "be all that you can be."
