Michigan Tri-Ess

Post by Carly »

Is anyone a member or can they give me any insight on the Michigan chapter of the Tri-Ess organization? I reached out to them and the communication stopped after a couple of e-mails when I requested how to join without revealing my personal info (e-mail excluded).

I was a member several years ago when I lived out west. Awesome group, I wish they had a chapter near by. Good luck

Hi Geri

I know there are a few things going on in Florida so I think you should start a new thread for the Florida girls to answer.

Good hunting

Hi, Geri -

Don't forget to check out any local TG social/support groups as there are quite a few CDs who want nothing to do with TriEss . . . and I don't blame them, for TriEss (national) has tunnel-vision and is narrow-minded. :( TriEss is more about the amount of money coming into their coffers, IMHO, but if it works for 'you' then God bless you! There are, however, a few chapters 'on the fringe' and TriEss (national) says they are trying to be more inclusive (the 'fringe' chapters are starting to increase in number and threatening to leave) . . . but their lack-of-action speaks louder than their words.

There are quite a few TG alliance groups on Yahoo - we have our own here in the Blue Ridge area - that are worthy of a search, and don't forget Pink Essence, which is more a social group than support.

There's a group out there for everyone, if one takes the time to search.

Good Luck!!

Thank you SilverLady,
I know what you are talking about and do agree. They were wonderful to my wife and I when I first came out, don't know what would of happened if we had not found Tri Ess at the time. We helped a lot of newbies out and we made a lot of friends.
There is a group (not TriEss)forming in Jacksonville Fl. they meet on the first Thursday of the month. It always seems that I have something else to take care of on Thursdays. But I keep up hopes that one day I'LL make it.

SilverLady......Tri-Ess are changing with the times.

National Dues have been reduced.

The Mirror has gone On-Line instead of print.

I belong to Tri-Ess LNT and we have a great chapter. Currently we have 14 couples and all total around 40 members. Yes both CD and Wife/SO. We have some great functions like

Annual Tea Party
Annual catered Banquet.
4th Saturday Outings. Going out as a group really helps the CD that is just coming out. The wifes are a great help too.

We always assign a sister to help mentor a new CD member and
a couple to help a new CD/SO couple.

The wifes/SO kinda have their own sub meetings where they can discuss things, help each other, and share ideas.

We have one board member that is a Wife/SO, so they are represented in all phases of our chapter.
