... Beauty,

I'm terribly disappointed... Playstation? This is what you need: XBox. Now, that's mature!

IT'S FRIDAY!
IT'S FRIDAY!!
IT'S FRIDAY!!! *-* *-* *-*

After a long, grueling week, stuck in hairy, stressed-out Alpha Male mode, LORNA comes forth once again!!! ..^.. @@9@@

A few days ago I was feeling down because a long, slow workweek messed up my head enough to erase part of my desire... but now that it's FINALLY Friday, I couldn't be more estatic! @@9@@

Maybe extended "boy" time isn't so bad... because without the downtime I wouldn't feel so excited about dressing on these rare occasions... I am just BURSTING with anticipation! A fun weekend is definitely on the menu... 8)

Hi Lorna,

You're welcome. :) I haven't been exactly where you are sweetie, but I, as others here can, relate with the period you're going through now. You're not content yet, but from where you've come you're on your way. The Lorna express is taxi'ing down the run way. :) Next destination... Destiny, USA! :)

Oh.. one more teeeny tiny thing. . . . I hated to do it.. but I had to reveal your being a tease with the details. :P :: runs ::

I'm glad you had such a great night! :)

Welllllll... there really wasn't anything overly "juicy" taking place per se, I was hanging with my GG friend Jenny. She and I danced the night away... and I saw a lot of old friends at the bar whom I haven't seen in years!

It was gothic night at this small bar. Part of the beauty of the goth scene is that you can just throw together all sorts of wacky & wild clothing ensembles, and still pull it off! For example last night I wore a black top, black denim shorts, black tights and these big black PVC boots! I was semi-punk.

That outfit would never fly in a more conservative atmosphere... but in a goth setting, most of the GGs dress similar. There's no such thing as weaing too much makeup, and no such thing as dressing too "slutty". It's great because it allows you to experiment with so many wild & wacky looks...

My friend Nikki wears bright glitter on her face & wears these silver platform sandals with her black ensemble. She is one of quite a few GGs in that scene who dress more "over the top" than drag queens! LOL!!! ..rofl..

Here's an example... This is my friend Stephanie. (Taken Sept 03) Her skirt is way shorter than mine! :P

Hi Lorna, and all the long line of posters!
This is a great thread. When it comes to your job, Lorna, I'll assume that it pays well enough that it's hard to replace. It's also somewhat addicting to be in an atmosphere like that one. You may not like all the baggage, but there's part of you that likes the challenge, if nothng else.

I used to find myself creating a crisis situation on my jobs, so that me and my employees were running full-out, working long hours into night, and not taking breaks. I won't go into all the reasons I found myself doing that, but one of them was that it kept me on an adrenaline "high," and it was also a great way to shut out mind chatter--it forced me to focus.

But I'm with all the other girls in saying, "Lorna, hon, life is way too short! Etc. etc....get those resumes out there!"

The pressure to dress? I felt it fiercely when I'd just begun, four years ago. I get no relief from underdressing at all, so that didn't help. The glamor of the nights was too much contrast, like you said. And dressing at home at night didn't help much, either. Going out I get to see Anita in the mirror of other people's eyes, and that seems necessary for me.

I don't really have a reason why the pressure subsided, but it did. I'm guessing that it's like any new relationship--you're obsessed with the "other person," (in this case, part of ourselves!), and you want to spend time with her! But as time goes on, you settle into more of a routine. You know, the honeymoon vs. a long marriage.

Lorna, can't you go out at least one night during the week? It was suggested by others, and it does take off some pressure. Grocery shopping is one way I do that. You briefly had a part-time job working enfemme, too, a while back. Doesn't sound like that's practical any more, but as someone said, what you once loved may come back again.

Whatever you decide, I'm rooting for you!
Anita :)
