Hi girls,
Neighbor disputes can really be a bummer. I have been in them and in the end, there is not a whole lot cops can do. It's unlikely he will do any time as he is most likely a first time offender, so what you are doing is starting a stalking case on him. They are hard to prove and restraining orders are hard to enforce.
It's most likely that the two of you will have to resolve the dispute. If not, this could go on for years and it does have a tendency to escalate. Perhaps you could write him a letter and explain that his disapproval does not change anything. Explain what it's like to have this gift. That is is not something one seeks, it's something that just is.
Let him know that his disapproval is not going to lead to you changing what you are doing and it's not going to make you move. What it is going to do is increase both of your stress levels. Perhaps you could get an "agree to disagree" type of agreement?
Anyways, good luck, i do not envy you.
Love always,
Elizabeth
