Yes they really dont show how smart you are you would need many official IQ tests to determine how smart you really but most people never go through that, and the few that do are mainly either have a genuis IQ or a low IQ and are forced to do the tests.
BTW CJ didnt post and still think that she is the smart person here.

Stephanie,
I tied with you...136. From what I understand, It's not "what" you know, but "do you know how to think." I'm gonna bug CJ to see what she gets. Now I'm curious.
She'll probably chicken out. (Yes, I'm an instigator!)
XOXO, Amber

As a closing thought -- there is absolutely no evidence for any genetic differences among races in intelligence. None, nada. Human races are simply too genetically similar. And it does amuse me that "whites" who preach that they are the superior race often look really stupid. Which in a way makes sense, because they are saying really stupid things.

Couldn't agree more. I don't put much faith in these online tests. Amber and I both took the test a few months back. It's an amusing little test, but IMO, intelligence is not just founded in tests.Jadhe wrote:Of course these tests don't mean anything. They only show how good you are in this particular test, nothing more.
But these things can be fun!
Nancy, I hear you. I know people who are labelled "Genius" and yet they can't change a tire on the freeway. Don't get me wrong. Some people are truly gifted and excell academically; that's all well and fine. I'm just saying I think true intelligence is a balance of book smarts and basic common sense.
BTW - mine was 135.
Hugs,
Kyra

Okay, okay, all. I took the test. (Amber, you're something else, woman!
).
Let me preface this by saying that I'm not sure what IQ is supposed to be measuring. I defer to our geneticist, Julie, in this regard.
My results: 142. According to the test, a Visionary Philosopher. <Snort> Hardly! (I have trouble paying my bills on time!
)
Love,
CJ

Well... I don't think I want to bother with this particular test, but I have taken a similar online test in the last few months. Scored 131. Definitely way below what I scored in fourth grade. So, forty years of dumbing down has worked effectively on me. My S.O. also scored 131. Coincidence? I'm not sure. I wondered if maybe that test always showed 131. After all, it would be a politically correct way to not offend anyone.
Julie is right, of course. The numbers don't measure intelligence, certainly at least not directly.
There is a weak genetic link. My father literally WAS a PhD rocket scientist. I am not in his league. But, I can change a tire, program the clock on my vcr, and do pretty well on various other tests.
I am babbling while I try to find a tasteful way to say the following: I've been wondering if crossdressers have way-above average intelligence as a group. I almost posted a poll. I think this thread has satisfied my curiosity. My suspicions are consistent with what I read here. As a group, we here in this forum, are of remarkable intellect, easily on par with MENSA. Birds of a feather, in more ways than one. It is an honor to associate with you.
Hugs

Re: IQ??
Mine was 53. Is that pretty good? I was trying to find an explanation of what the scores mean, but everything seems to be on pages where you have to know how to read. Oh well. My dog thinks I’m a genius and she scored a 56.Stephanie Higgins wrote:I found this link doing the MSN quizes

I.Q.
I beleive that Fox had a two hour IQ test on TV a couple of weeks ago
I took it and this one and one in grade school and one in the Navy * yes I was a Naval Aviator flew F-8's) any way the average for all four tests for me was 128. The Fox test said that the average IQ is 90 -100 and if you are over 130 you are MENSA qualified , but they are pretty picky and really you should be over 140. What ever, I think that any "serious" CD'er is highly intelligent! and it shows here!! Love ya all, Deborah

Hi Deborah!
Ah, the Chance-Vought F8 Crusader, a wicked bird with an air intake ala A6 Intruder/Prowler and A7 Corsair II, and a wing that would come unhinged to lower your nose on final. They supposedly flew out of Olathe NAS in the 60s (before I moved out here). Local mythology tells of an unluckly pilot who had a flameout at altitude, and glided all the way to Smokey Hill (Now Salina KS) about 120NM to the west. Another lost his hydraulics, and came in hot at Richards Gebaur Air Force Base, slid off the runway overrun - accross the public highway and into an empty building in a fireball. Crash/Fire/Rescue couldn't find a body. The "body" finally turned up at the local Officer's club, on foot, mostly unhurt. Nobody had seen him eject! Do please share your favorite story!
Julie: A friend of mine looked into MENSA. That chapter was just a bunch of singles looking for "qualified" dates. I guess there is a lot more to character than mere intelligence.
Hugs to all,
Bernice
