Good and bad TG issues in Irish courts
The week before last a male to female transsexual was awarded 30,000 in court for gender descrimination because her boss forced her to resume her male persona when dealing with existing customers. She got a lot of very positive coverage and support from the national media and was interviewed on radio and television. She is going to use the award to complete her transition. But a lot of damage was done to the crossdressing community yesterday when a rape victim gave evidence that the rapist, who had a foreign accent, was wearing an aqua coloured womens thong and a silk peach slip under his clothes. He also had a pair of unopened thights stuffed into his thong. The police said they found the underware and "other items" in his apartment. So it's one step forward two steps back for TG public image.

The story about the transsexual got much more coverage and lots of positive discussion on talk radio because it was the first ever case of sexual descrimination involving a TG in the Irish courts. The rape case was only reported in news bulitins but would have got much less coverage if crossdressing was not involved.

Well as we know the British Press very well,we can be sure the rape incident would be given much more coverage with sensationalist headlines about the pervert tranny if they ever got hold of both storysPaula G wrote:Neither story has made the news here, but I wonder which got the bigger headlines, and most attention
