En Femme at the Salon
I had come out to my stylist several months ago and asked for a cut that could be styled either femme or homme. We settled on a fairly short cut along the lines of Jamie Lee Curtis.
She's cuts my hair and then styles it femme at the salon. Before I get home, though, I restyle it homme; just a few strokes with a comb or fingers usually. Oddly enough my wife likes the cut, but doesn't know the truth of the cut. Since she likes it, I'll continue with the Jamie Lee cut.
Today I dressed totally en femme for my haircut appointment. I had told my stylist that I might do that one of these days. Today was the day!! However, when I got to the salon there was a bit of a snafu; a coworker (who does not know I'm a crossdresser) was getting her hair dyed and the stylist was running late.
When I pulled up in front of the salon, the stylist saw me, came out to the car and informed me that the coworker was there but had not seen me. She suggested I come back about a half hour later. She said I looked nice. I came back later and went ahead with the cut with other clients and stylists present. I was really nervous at first, but relaxed as things progressed. Didn't talk much because my voice is a dead give away. Got done and don't know if anyone other than my stylist was aware that I wasn't a lady. I really don't care though since they aren't acquaintances.
Quite an exciting time, though too short for my liking. Had to go get undone before going home. Wish I could do this more often. My stylist even called me by my femme name and asked when I was going to get a wild dye job. Nice to think and fantasize about, but will probably never happen.
Love ya!

Alana, next you'll be getting mani's and pedi's on a regular basis.
You'll certainly enjoy them too. My lunch date this past Friday asked if I get them and aren't they wonderful.
I am one of those girls with a lack of hair except in my closet, but I did have one of my wigs styled and I had to sit for the final trimming. Glad you had a wonderful time.
Hey .... about that wild color. That's what wigs are for. My last time out en fem I had almost as much real red as black. Wig shopping can be fun too.

I agree, there is nothing like going to the salon and getting all "fixed up". Those ladies really know how to put a girl together
I need to get a pedi now, haven't had one in months, but I don't know a good place here in Sofia to do that. Then I need to get my hair done, what a disaster it is
I love looking good after I come out, but I hate that it doesn't last long

Sounds like you had fun, but as always events like that are too short, I feel the same when I get a Mani/pedi, I always have to take the polish off my finger nails before going home. I just wish I had enough hair of my own to go to a stylist. Glad you had a good time.

I know you were thrilled getting your hair done while en fem. I remember the first time I went to my Nail Salon en fem. At first my Tech did not know me, but quickly she figured it out. Then in Thia, she told all the other Techs. They all came over, said, "Hi", told me how nice I looked, and quietly asked how I should be addressed. Now when I enter the Nail Salon, I get the Choirs of "Hi JoAnn". In fact I had another customer remark that I seem to be real popular. I replied that I was a long time customer. LOL

I will finally be getting a mani and pedi again in a few days. It's been months, probably since May, that I had a manicure last and even longer since a pedicure. There is a place in Pennsylvania that I like, so I've been waiting to get back there. I should have been there yesterday but the storm has all the flights messed up. So I will be there late tonight, then probably tomorrow I will go to the salon. It's been too long...

Re: En Femme at the Salon
Hi, ladies. It's been quite some time since I was online. The stylist that I referred to in this topic moved to Texas and is no longer available to do my hair. However, she turned me over to another stylist who cuts my hair in a fashion that can be styled either feminine or masculine. I have dressed several more times with both stylists since my first time. Also, I came out to the co-worker last year. She seems accepting and supportive.
Am sitting here, fully dressed with makeup and my own hair in a short curly style. I like it! Wish I could do it more often.

I am nearly totally bald. Just a little strip of hair around my head.
I wish that I had hair that I could grow out. Even though it's gray now.
It would be so much fun to go to a stylist and have my hair done.
I make an attractive and passable woman. Oh what fun it would be!
It would be great to be with other ladies and chat while we become more attractive!
Oh my goodness!

Re: En Femme at the Salon
My father wore a toupee and I never knew...the day my sister told me I was shocked...later in life my mother and my sister really started to lean on him after retirement. My mom saying "it looks like a dead rat on your head!" They finally convinced him to put the toupee away. I got used to it but always felt it was not right of them to do that to him. I suppose he was so used to wearing one, and had had it replaced over the years...there was a guy up in the mountains of North Carolina he would go to...all very special, secret and exclusive...or so I thought. Dad would also disappear into the bathroom on occasion with special bottles to dye his hair to match it all up, apply tape etc.... I suppose he was used to it and I felt part of his dignity was tied up with it, and he was so used to wearing it. For myself I was so used to seeing my dad with hair, it was completely shocking to see him bald on top. Well I always wished they had left him alone about it. Oh well.
If I had inherited the genes from my father's side I would be very affected by it - wow the males in the family are bald except on the back and sides. I am so glad that I have a full head of hair.
I suppose If I had sadly inherited male pattern baldness...such a cruel thing for many who have problems with it, I would do anything to have hair...plugs...toupee sure... but as a transgender I would spend the money for a high quality human hair wig that matched my natural hair color.
I do have a low end synthetic wig I have taken very good care of that matches my hair color... it is the easiest way to instantly have glorious pretty feminine hair but I suppose it is aging and beginning to dry some.
I am lucky though to be able to grow out my own natural hair but I am having to dye it back to it's natural medium brown because of age.
