What is a bra to you?

I agree, bras just embrace you like nothing else. I'm not very fond of lacy/underwire ones and usually go for full support to get the most powerhuggy feeling.

Recently while dressed (skinny jeans, all very casual) I had occasion to break into a bit of a jog, and felt a definite jiggle - WOW - not least since I don't use proper forms just padded bra and "chicken fillets"

This was a whole new experience and a feeling I rather liked, at my age it is good to still be able to find new experiences.

If I don't have a bra on I feel as though I forgot something while dressing.

Since wearing womens clothing often feels like my clothes are giving me a hug, I'd say that the bra gives the most noticeable hug. I suppose on one hand the clothes are just more sensual than mens clothes, and on another hand it's a way of saying I'm embracing a part of myself.

A lot of feminine tops don't quite fit right without some sort of boobs. The underarms catch a bit if you don't have either breasts or forms to push the front of the shirt forward.

Since CDing is sort of a game or hobby with me, I guess you could also say that a bra is a toy when I wear it.

This of course leads to the question of what is a bra to me when a woman is wearing it. The short answer: interesting. Nowadays with all the colors and styles a bra peeping out from various places is a nice fashion statement I think.

I've noticed another trend at the gym, which is that the more well endowed ladies sometimes seem to wear 2 bras, the regular one and then some sort of racing bra over it, when running on the treadmill. Others just use a good strong bra as a top with nothing else.

Years ago there was a serial killer in the next state who strangled women with their bras, so that's taking the comment about Jean Harlow (she totes a breast like a man totes a gun) to a drastically different level of bra as weapon. A very sick place. But lingerie as a pschological weapon is hardly a new idea, and it fits in with the fear of women expressed ever since the story of Adam and Eve.

When I started out I wasn't really interested in bras but as my view of dressing changed over years I saw bras as q other wonderful part of femininity. Now the variety or fabrics and styles is great. I like the way they feel on and the look under clothing. I think they are part of the feminine wardrobe puzzle one tries to assemble when possible.

Obviously bras are an important part of the whole ensemble. No other article of women's clothing, though, makes me feel as feminine as a bra, the only article of clothing that is exclusively female. Wearing a bra makes me feel like, "I'm really a girl." The only thing better would be having actual breasts.

That is totally true Sally!! I have some time today to dress and well wearing a bra with my forms in is so nice. I wish I could get my breast to be bigger than they are so I would want to or need to wear a bra all the time. When I have one of my bra's on it just makes me feel like I am being hugged well like no other way possible. Bras are just so feminine and that is what I like about having it on. I just wish my bra could hold real breasts that are part of me not just on my chest with tape or glue. Oh to be dressed as a women, what a feeling of euphoria!!

Hugs,

Erica

It's all of these thing to me as well, but I like the way Sally said it. It makes me feel like I'm really a girl, it's the one thing that really embodies femininity (literally). Putting on my bra in the morning is a small ritual in itself, I spend a bit of time thinking about which one I want to wear for the day, how I feel about myself, whether it will be a basic blue one, or a fancy red and black one with matching panties, something with a lot of extra push-up or something less noticible. Then the bra I finally pick influences what else I wear for the day, obviously the panties have to go with it, but then I need to decide whether I will wear a sleeveless top and let my straps show a little, if I want the top to match the bra and let it blend in a little, or if I will be more daring and wear a light white top with a black bra and show it all off, or a strapless dress and be really wild. Sometimes I decide on the dress first and then choose the bra, but almost always my bra is the first thing I pick out in the morning. It's what really sets the tone of the day for me.

A bra is absolutely key to me as it allows me to have "breasts," which are essential to my feeling and looking feminine. A bra was the first item of womens' clothes I wore and the first item I ever bought for myself. Even today (as I have an entire quiver of bras in my wardrobe), bras are among the clothes I always look at while shopping, whether in person or on line. I completely agree with what others have said about the bra "hug" - it's a feeling like no other.

Ironically, as I dress more often and more completely, I find myself longing for effective stick-on forms (mine are not quite 100% secure) so that I can have breasts and be braless! So much for consistency.

A quote; "I completely agree with what others have said about the bra "hug" - it's a feeling like no other". One of the things I love about lingerie is that tight hug feeling that you get from, tight nylon/lyrca panties, high denier nylon tights, shapewear, and bras. I like to wear a bra often without any forms. I have one in particular that fits the chest well, and hugs the natural contour of my chest. That snug feel is sooooo nice, I couldn't be bothered with anything else. Funny how so many of us like that feeling.
So I concluded that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to enjoy themselves as long as they can. People should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of there labor, for these are gifts from God.

When I started out Cross Dressing it was all about wearing panties and like many others I was not really interested in bras but over the years I started to notice that my view of cross dressing had changed. I now see bras as part of completing the feminine feeling. I enjoy the way they feel on me and how they look under my clothing. I think they are a much needed and wearing my forms just feels so nice. I now want a bra with breast forms all the time. It just makes me feel like I am complete, like no other way possible
I believe that all of us have a little feminine in us. The freedom to chose how we like to dress either masculine or feminine is a private feeling that anyone can enjoy!
