Casual observations at a wedding
Ladies,
I had the honor of being invited to a wedding and reception today (Sunday). The wedding was a son of a lady friend of mine and his lady. I, of course, was dressed in typical male attire…suit, stripped shirt, tie and shoes with the typical male under-pinnings. My observations of the GG’s in attendance reveled the following:
• Almost all young GG’s did not wear stockings or panty hose.
• Almost all young GG’s wore killer heels…most were 4” stilettos, some were 3” and 4” sling back peep toe pumps; with an occasional 4” espadrille wedge sandal
• Almost all of the older ladies wore panty hose or stockings…hard to tell which type with out looking to conspicuously for the telltale signs….end of girdle leg lines and / or garter bumps.
• Almost all of the older ladies wore some type of shapewear, be it Spanx, or its equivalent or a “real” girdle. As the place was very crowded, especially during the reception and open bar time, the several ladies that I accidentally bumped into, waiting to place my drink order, were wearing substantial shape wear….a good girdle and one lady was even wearing a longline bra. Being a long line bra and girdle wearer, believe me, I could tell…rock hard bum and smooth waist line. There was one lady that was wearing a tailored green shantung suit (she looked fantastic) that was wearing a rather substantial girdle and stockings with a longline bra. She moved with determination and grace.
• Several of the younger ladies wore just plain panties…VPL was easily seen (how sad).
• Some ladies in the bridal party were wearing boned longline bras and girdles or a substantial corset and a girdle…..they looked fantastic.
• Almost all of the ladies that were wearing “killer heels” of all types at the end of the evening were complaining vehemently about how much their feet hurt…cramped toes, blisters, sore ankles, etc. Some had even brought loafer type of shoes, flats or even tennis shoes to change into….
• Several of the ladies, that I could tell who were wearing substantial foundations, were also complaining that they were having “girdle trouble”…..waist band roll, pinching in all the wrong places (where ever that place is) and just plain discomfort. As it was quite warm and humid, several ladies were overheard to say they should have left their girdle at home and should have worn just panty hose.
After listening to these tid-bits of conversations about their shapewear and other accoutrements, especially their shoes, I just wish that I could have been one of the complainers too. Sometimes after having been dressed for an extended outing wearing one of my “good” high waist girdles and a controlling longline bra and a pair of “killer” high heel shoes, and a fitted suit with all the trimmings, I too, know what these ladies felt…..I just wish that I could have been one of them…..
Anyway…I just thought that I would share this with the group…for what its worth…comments??
Cheers,
Bobbie R

You are very observant, Bobbie. Even though I wear many of those things many times, I'm pretty sure I couldn't have picked them out so accurately on others. It is interesting really, to what extent ladies will go to look nice, and the utter ignorance most of the men have about it.
It would have been great if you had joined in their conversations with understanding and sympathy while dressed in guy clothes, that should have been quite a conversation
I think that many of the troubles that come from wearing killer heels and shape wear is from lack of practice. If one only wears it for special occasions, then it will be brutal. And then I will bet that most of the shoes were bought for the occasion and worn for the first time that day, always a recipe for blisters.
You know, I find myself paying a lot more attention to the clothes that women are wearing, and all of the accesories. Usually I find myself thinking things like: "that looks really good on her, but I could never wear it", or better "I really like that skirt, I need to find one like that" and "boy she looks good, that outfit must have cost a fortune." Of course when one is wearing guy clothes you can't say any of that out loud or they will lock you away.

I've had a couple of times when (middle-aged) women SAs have said they needed a girdle to me. Both times there was a kind of backstory suggesting that I liked to wear womens's clothes. So it was like, in part, they were talking to another woman. I kind of felt flattered and drawn in, but also that it was more like a bit of flirting that an invitation for me to respond.Ralitsa wrote:It is interesting really, to what extent ladies will go to look nice, and the utter ignorance most of the men have about it.

Well it depends. I mean, like you I'm looking at women a lot and going that looks really nice, or that doesn't go with that, or she's put an awful lot of effort into it - and with a kind of an idea of wondering how stuff looks on me. But I don't have that general one to one thing about "I'd like to wear that" or "it'd look good on me" unless it's to do with specific problems I've got - like wearing a scarf to hide my adam's apple. That's probably because I'm less far down the line in terms of wearing women's clothes but not in "the real world". But also there is the hovering about between finding a woman attractive and studying her look that goes on with me - so that when I say something about her clothes (and etc.) it generally comes out as a compliment verging on flirting. You know, I find myself paying a lot more attention to the clothes that women are wearing, and all of the accesories. I think a lot of women enjoy flirting. Just my experience.

This is strictly my opinion, but most people male or female have no fashion sense. They blindly go with ever the latest craze is and do not think whether it suits them or not. Weddings are a great place to watch people. This is one of my favorite pastimes. I see the VPL's, and I like it, to me it is sexy. It is all a part of the showing some lace to get the interest started. We all need something to get the imagination going. Seeing who is wearing what kind of hose is interesting when you compare it to what ever else they are wearing. Guys clothes are "BORING" and that is one of the reasons for CDing. Looking at the ones that are to old to be wearing something, but it is all part of the "what message are you sending". One of the best people watching platforms is weddings, you see all kinds and can expect anything.
So I concluded that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to enjoy themselves as long as they can. People should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of there labor, for these are gifts from God.

Every now and then I used to tell one of my gg friends what she was wearing under it all. Of course these girls knew about me. Once one looked back at me, "you scare me"; I had everything right.
My son-in-law told me when he hears me say "interesting", he's never sure if I'm looking at a pretty girl or any girl and her pretty outfit.
I too am always watching women to know what they are wearing, how they look and whether I would look good in the same outfit.

I would add a pang of sheer envy, thinking: "I wish I could look like that."I too am always watching women to know what they are wearing, how they look and whether I would look good in the same outfit.

From my point of view, the sexiest part of a woman, is not her breasts, or any other body part. The sexiest part of a woman is what is covering her breasts, and other body parts. The imagination is left wide open to the thinker. Why do you think that VS and other lingerie stores do such a good business.
So I concluded that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to enjoy themselves as long as they can. People should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of there labor, for these are gifts from God.

Bobbie the killer heels, foundation garments, pantihose, stocking, and all the rest, are only fun when you don't feel that you have to wear it. Just as you feel you might be judged for wanting to wear these things, remember that some women feel they will be judged for NOT wearing them. At that point it's no longer fun, just a chore.
My wife is a teacher. She had her first day back at school today. She was bitching about having to wear a bra because of what people would think if she didn't. In her mid 50's she is still small breasted and fit enough to get away with not wearing one for much of the summer, but in school the mere fact that it could be noticed renders it a no no.

As having lived and worked as a female for the past 7 plus years I feel you are correct in some of your obversations, I have noticed them as well, however some may be a bit a little off.
Also weather has a lot to do with underpinnings. I know that in the heavy and humidity of this summer I had several times such as church, a baby shower, and even a date or two where I eschewed the heavy duty shaper and hose for a lighter control panty and bare legs. Granted I wore slacks or a longer skirt on these occassions but still even us mature girls get warm.
With those of us mature ladies we all grew up in a more formal era where hose was just part of the expected "uniform" ergo a dress-up occassion such as a wedding demands hose. While I am sure pantyhose dominated I doubt many if any of the ladies there with the exception of yourself had on actual gartered stockings. Perhaps a few wore thigh highs but probably not true stockings.Almost all of the older ladies wore panty hose or stockings…hard to tell which type with out looking to conspicuously for the telltale signs….end of girdle leg lines and / or garter bumps.
Again those of us mature ladies grew up in the era of shapers be it girdles or whatever so it is only natural we would wear them. Also the mature figure may need a little extra help displaying those feminine curves expected of us and shapewear helps. I again doubt many had on true longline bras. With today's shaper camisoles and all-in-one briefers longline bra wearers are few and far between.Almost all of the older ladies wore some type of shapewear, be it Spanx, or its equivalent or a “real” girdle. As the place was very crowded, especially during the reception and open bar time, the several ladies that I accidentally bumped into, waiting to place my drink order, were wearing substantial shape wear….a good girdle and one lady was even wearing a longline bra. There was one lady that was wearing a tailored green shantung suit (she looked fantastic) that was wearing a rather substantial girdle and stockings with a longline bra. She moved with determination and grace.
I know I as well as many other GG's have brought "comfy" shoes to a wedding or other occassion where we will be dancing or on our feet for extended periods. Believe me it is a lot easier to "boogie" in flats than 4" stilettoes!Almost all of the ladies that were wearing “killer heels” of all types at the end of the evening were complaining vehemently about how much their feet hurt…cramped toes, blisters, sore ankles, etc. Some had even brought loafer type of shoes, flats or even tennis shoes to change into….
For those not used to wearing shapers the "my girdle is killing me" line is so true. I wear some form of a shaper everyday be it a full panty girdle or just a simple control panty. The issues with waistbands rolling, pinching in all the wrong places, and the like is a case of improper sizing, i.e. trying to squeeze an extra large butt and hips into a large girdle, etc.Several of the ladies, that I could tell who were wearing substantial foundations, were also complaining that they were having “girdle trouble”…..waist band roll, pinching in all the wrong places (where ever that place is) and just plain discomfort.
