eyebrows

I guess that we shouldn't worry about shaping our eyebrows too much anymore.

Up until a few hours ago, I didn't think much about it. But due to reading a thread about lipstick, I decided to go get have a consultation about make-up. The lady who helped me told me in no uncertain terms that I need to get my eyebrows fixed. Now I come back and read this........

Sigh! If you would like to be out and about and would like to increase passability, then defining the brow, not making them necessarily thin, is a good thing. Defining an arch is better. This is for two reasons. A woman's brows are already a bit higher, normally than a guys. They also lack the brow ridge that most guys have. For a CDer to have the under part of the brow cleaned and shaped, "opens" up the eye giving the illusion of a higher brow that when darkened will make a more feminne appearing upper face.

Yeah, there are women, like Brooke Shields for one, who have darker and thicker brows as part of her own statement, but if you observe them, they are also naturally higher and do not present the beetle brow most mens heavier and hairier brows do. Compounding the problem for guys, is that there is a stronger and earlier tendency to gain tissue between the eyebrow and over the lid of the eye, pushing the eye into a more narrow shape, and creating a more closed, tired look. There are many men by their -50s that need the upper eyelid tuck called a Blerphoplasty to increase their peripheral vision, as the upper lid is pused down enough that it can restrict your vision except straight ahead. Take a look in the mirror and you can likely see it.

For the CDer and TG/TS it is a way of opening up the eye. Don't forget that a woman likes the enhanced eye and works hard to keep that "wide eyed" look since that seems to indicate to a potential mate that she is interested. It also can make a more awake and not so tired look. They use powders and mascara, as you know, to create interest in the eyes since that is one of the first things (after the chest) that most horny men look at (and most men are horny). Truly, most men believe in the adage that the eyes are the windows to the soul, or at least to lust or maybe attraction

I agree with Carolyn,
Shaping and defining is the big thing. heavy eyebrows, pencil lead thin and everything in between are trends that come and go. If you permanently thin them, then for a guy, you will look weird; for a girl, you will be fine for tham month's trend.

Get them shaped and defined and it's something you can have done permanently. If it's drastic, you may get comments, but not likely about how girly they are just how good they look. I have naturally long hair for my brows and I trim the hair or my barber does. Never has been a problem. BTW, my barber is my brother-in-law and he doesn't know about Davita.

speaking for myself and from observation most pretty ladies shape and thin their brows, and some don't. I have learned that it is better to take some small sissors, and a mascara brush or some tiny stiff brush to brush eyebrow hairs up then trim their length when they go beyond the brow line. the inner brow should line up with the inner edge of your eye opening, laying a straight edge aside your nose can help, the outer edge of the brow should not extend beyond the outer edge of the eye. Brows can be thinned and arched from underneath with sharp tweezers the arch should be centered over the pupil, and the eyebrow can be thinned or tapered toward the outer edge. They make eyebrow pincils, or eyebrow mascare with a little pad to dust your eyebrow with a brown powder. I use mascara - a light coat as girls are flexible, there are no set rules as long as the outcome is natural. There is also waxing - ouch, and thredding where two crossed and taught threds are used to clean up the wild hairs and the edge of your brows.
