Good news at long last

Post by Susan »

I was today offered a well paid job close to where I live.

This hopefully marks the end of a horrible decade for me and it will be the first time in over 12 years that I have worked within commuting distance of where I live.

This is a turning point for me, I feel as if huge weight has been lifted from me. Time to look at the future in a positive sense. I thank god for Susan - she has been the only thing that has kept me sane in these dark days.

To celebrate we bought this today to thank her http://tinyurl.com/7pn4q4p

Congrats, Susan.

We have people coming into DC or Northern Virginia from long distances every day (from West Virginia or southern Virginia, for example), and though I like driving, I don't think I could do that every day.

Great, Susan.

I never liked working real close to home and often worked 70 miles or more away.

A short commute was nice in that it gave me time to "get my head screwed on", but the longer ones got expensive and often I would have to rent a place and get home on the weekends.

That's wonderful, Susan. I'm self-employed, but 99% of my customers are from my former city, so I have to commute every week. It is so good when I get the occasional local job. So I know it's great to finally be closer to home on a job you go into every workday.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart,

Yesterday was my final day and to celebrate, I met up with my friend Charlotte from Leeds, we got ready at hers and set off for a night out in Manchester (pic in the gallery). We had a lovely time that night, it was Charlotte's first time there and she was surprised how easy it was and how accepted we where every where we went.

The new job will enable me to get out a lot more. I have some new dresses I bought in the sales that need a airing soon. They are and I hope I look gorgeous when I wear them

Glad to hear it Susan.
I hope your new job goes well. I found long commutes to be both expensive and stressful. I'm happy to hear you found something close.

Hugs,
Kyra
