What's the best bargain you've had?
I've bought loads of stuff off ebay for stupid prices;
Knee length green suede boots for 99p hardly worn.
LK Bennett shoes for £14 which cost more than £120 new, and obviously never been worn.
The dress in my profile photo, a Debenhams collection dress, for £6.50.
Worn them all out at one time ar another and felt great in all of them.

A Windsmore full length double breasted cashmere overcoat, barely worn for £4.99 I feel like $million as well as snug and warm when ever I wear it.

A playtex corselette for £5 at TKMax. The woman at the till seemed to be distinctly envious of the price I was getting it for.

I'm always getting coupons for like $10 off of $10 or more. The other fun ones are working the $10 off $20 and you're only wanting an item less than $20. Whatever you get to make up just the difference is free. So I wind up with some new trouser socks, or earrings, or some such. Even if I get something I don't particularly want, it's free. I'll just donate it or give it away.
In terms of expensive type stuff I think it was my full length %100 wool coat for about $30. As I think about it, I have a couple GG friends it will fit and it doesn't fit me anymore *sigh*

My best purchase so far was a pair of 3" beige pumps for $.75 at Bealls Outlet store. It was the last pair in that color and had scuff marks on the heel that's why the price was so low. Best thing was they were in my size so a great buy for me

Danielle has a good point. No matter how good the deal, if we aren't getting compliments, was it worth it?

Davita and Danielle have a point, it doesn't matter what you've paid, if you get good compliments you feel like a million dollars.
Even better when you know you've only paid a few pounds for your outfit.
Can't wait to go out in my new maxi dress(£2.99) and L K bennett shoes (£14) looking really girly and trendy, and probably better dressed than most GGs.

Re: What's the best bargain you've had?
I have had so many good deals I can not remember them all. A few are:
Bought a pair of shoes for a dollar she threw in another pair and then tried throw in a third pair that was a different size.
Bought a brand new skirt at Goodwill new with tags that said $60 on the original store tag got it for $2.
Bought a winter coat for $5 almost like new. When college kids leave they sell things cheap or just throw it.
I pulled some nice things out from dumpster diving.
I have gotten some skirts and tops at JCP on final clearance for $1-5
One special good for this bra lover was a like never worn bra at a Salvation Army store for $1. It was $52 retail.
My ex would get upset at me about how much money I spent on femme clothes. Some of the whole outfits I wore were under $5-10, many in the $11-25 range, and few above $50.
I am a fruggle shopper, i go to the second hand stores, consignment shops, and watch the sales and clearance racks in all stores. I buy very few cloths at full price femme or male.

Re: What's the best bargain you've had?
KimberleyS,
thats great news, as I don't get to dress often, so I hate to spend lots of money on the clothes I love. I am the main breadwinner in our family and with 2 teenage boys, one of them six foot three, and the other not far behind, finances are tight.
Its good to know that I'm not the only one that can have a night out in a £10 outfit.
Why do GGs have to spend so much, when they've already got a head start on us?
Laura.

Re: What's the best bargain you've had?
I like shopping at the 2nd hand places also, and have gotten many good deals. Last year I bought a bunch of summer tops for $1 each. This year the same place had dress slacks for $1 and I got 2 pair. There is another consignment shop that I like to visit where I've found great deals also, skirts or dresses that still have the original tags for $5-10 that retailed for 10x that much. And I always check the clearance racks first at the department stores, one time I got an $80 dress for $3 at JCP.
But my "best deal" might not be the lowest price I've ever paid. I just picked up my newest outfit that my friend Peggy made for me. I spent about $50 on the material, pattern, and supplies, and paid her $75 for sewing it, so it wasn't cheap at all. But it is a gorgeous green and gold material that is very rich and elegant, lined with black satin. It's a dress and jacket combination that looks fabulous, and it's hand-made to fit me. She had several attempts to purchase it before I picked it up, so plenty of women were coveting it
So if the "best deal" is defined as having the highest happiness:price ratio, then this might be it. Actually I have not worn it yet, I'm still looking for the perfect occasion to wear it for the first time. And I need to find the right shoes to wear with it also.

Having a friend who is willing to make dresses for you is as much of a treasure as the dress itself.

Re: What's the best bargain you've had?
I guess I'm wearing it (don't laugh) a K-Mart bra. I've had fancier and prettier bras since I bought it, but it continues to supply support and projection every time it surfaces in my bra drawer. It's front close and the elastic is very stretchy, supposedly a 44C, but it takes my 44Bs very well. I bought it for $2 on sale, and a half dozen beside, the first time I'd taken that many to checkout (the clerk never blinked). It's a K-Mart house brand. Does anybody else sing the praise of cheap bras?
Today I received a very nice reddish-purple pants set (paisley shirt) that fits nicely, all of $4 (originally $50) on clearance. I'm a demon shopper of clearance racks and web pages and stick to a few places where the sizing tends to be consistent enough that I can buy a 2X (20-22) and expect it to fit.
