Educational level

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Sorry that I missed this thread when it started but we were "in transition" 'er moving and, whatever. Anyway, some of the small amount of research that exists on "us," and has been eluded to above and supported by the posts here. As I have referenced from the cartoon character, Yogi Bear, "Yeah, we are smarter than the average bear!" Is that good, bad or indifferent, who knows, but we do recognize, well no offense, but we do recognize that we have a "gift." I mean the ability to, even in the minutest way for some the ability to feel, experience, share one, two or more feminine traits and to know from whence they come. I mean how cool is that?!

I have eluded to some of the things that Virginia has done, but the one that seems to stand out to me, usually when "en drab" is empathy. Just listening to someone, I mean really listening and then in a heartfelt way just reach out and physically touch them, on the arm, the hand with a knowing nod or smile. They are so taken back but you can sense their appreciation of "damn, this person has actually listened to me and touched me letting me know that they really care." You have to do this automatically and mean it or the other person can see right through it, however!

Does that take "higher education" I think not! It takes caring about your fellow human beings. What we are blessed with is perhaps somewhat selfish, but it is knowing that from whence it comes -- a generally -- generally feminine trait of empathy.

Oh, my background and education, BS in education, MS in School administration and a commissioned "officer and a gentleman" and Naval Aviator!

Go Forth Woman and BE!!!!!!!

!!!yes!!!

A very astute observation, Absaroka!

This thread reminds me of another very similar thread: http://crossdressers-haven.com/forums/v ... ght=#74172

I decided to respond to this thread, because the more people who respond, the more accurately the sample represents the group, even if the group itself is not a truly representative sample of crossdressers in every respect. Of course, this also presumes that respondents do not self-select, and said presumption is probably also flawed.

I have a BA with an interdisciplinary major from a school that very few outside of the state where it is located have ever heard of. It has actually been more of a hindrance than a help in getting a job. People in a position to offer employment tend to assume the worst, and disparage anything that doesn’t fit their preconceived notions of someone who can do a job well. But then, I am just one of the 15 million who are frustrated in looking for work during this economic depression.

Hugs,

Let's see... 'Alphabet soup'...... Have to think....
Graduated in the lower third of my high school class.
Then went on to get a A.A.S. in Electronic Technology, a BSEE, a BS in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree.
The AAS and BSEE allowed me to work for 10 years, then went back to school for the rest. I have now been in practice for over 21 years and can honestly say that with all the trials and tribulations, the ups and the downs of owning a business, it would be very hard to go back to working at a job. Even in this wobbly economic time we currently have, there is a certain satisfaction is figuring out how to keep this place open!
It also gives me the freedom to schedule time away from here for Lisa!!

Huggs to all,
Lisa E

What an interesting bunch we are. I have an MA in Economics and Statistics but don't let that fool you. In Scotland you get an MA as your first degree if you do a four year course.
The best compliment I ever had was from a workmate: "Really you went to university, you'd never know". I think he was trying to say I came across as a regular guy but perhaps not.

Of all the qualifications I have picked up over the years the most useful was from a two day training course on doing risk assessments, the most interesting a certificate in higher ed. on Theology and the only one I ever use the letters from MCIWM (Member of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management)

I once met a man who tendered me his calling card on which were the initials "H.B".
I asked what HB stood for and was told "Human Being".
I thought that was sweet :-)
