Hello!

Like so many others, I began crossdressing at age 5 or 6. One day when no one was around I saw a pair of pantyhose lying on my mother's bed. I don't know why, but I tried them on, as best as a 5 yr. old could. I was hooked!

Whenever I could, after that day, I would wear my mom's knee highs or pantyhose. Around the age of 12 or 13 I began experimenting with more than hosiery: make-up, panties, bras, skirts, etc.

When I got a driver's liscense I purchased my own things, and dressed as often as I could until the age of 20. I'm currently 25 and have tried to stop over the past five years. Anyway, I really struggle with this. Sorry, but I'm just being honest.

No need to apologize . . . what you're going through is common to many members here. Being TG or a crossdresser is nothing to feel bad about! Good luck.

If you don't mind, I'd like to hear more about why you are trying to stop crossdressing. Do you think it's a sin? Are you afraid that people will find out, and they will no longer accept you? I'm just guessing here.

When I tried to stop crossdressing some years ago, it was because somehow I thought that it was terribly silly and wrong (I don't mean from a religious point of view, as I don't even believe in god). I didn't want to be a freak.

Luckily, I managed to get rid of those ridicilous thoughts.

I am with Jadhe. If you don't mind us asking why have you tried to stop? Please know this question is not to make you feel bad we just want insight. I have not tried to stop nor do I think I will because I know it would be pointless for me to try to stop. Besides that I like the feel way to much of a nice velvet leotard.

Hi Michelle,

First and foremost - stop trying to fight it. Most of the 'gurlz' here will tell you that it's useless to do so. Crossdressing is something you're born with as opposed to something that you merely elect to do of your own choice. You have no reason to feel guilty about it since you are most DEFINITELY not alone.

You might find some answers to a lot of the questions I'm sure you have on my web site. There's quite a bit there so be prepared to stay a while if you visit. It's a CLEAN site and there's nothing there in text or picture format that would be embarrassing to you or anyone else you might want to view it with you.

One other thing - I noticed that you had listed "Southeast" as your location and I was just wondering what area your lived in. I'm in Alabama so we could be near to each other.

First of all, I am sorry I have not responded to your questions. Secondly, thank you for the support. Why have I tried to stop? I guess I just saw it as wrong. Not sure I can answer that real well.

Anyway, I'm getting better at acceptance of myself. I'm purging less (not at all, lately). I even kept my legs shaved most of this last winter. Small stuff, I know, but I am taking it slow.

Also, I don't get online much so I can't reply as often as I'd like, but wanted to update this because of all ya'll's great responses.

A few years ago I posted an article on the CDDF and the short analogy was this. You can raise a duckling with a litter of kittens and the duckling will mimic the kittens and attempt to do what they do, but eventually the duck will mature and nature will take over. It will then seek to do what nature intended it to do, it will seek water to swim and it will fly, it will then lead it's life in the normal way it was meant to, it will cease to follow in the path of the cats.

This is the way it is with us too. What we do is normal for us, it's not weird and we are not freaks. We mature into intelligent responsible good living people, we just do what is nomral for us and it's harmless. The greatest harm which can occur is to ourselves, if we repress what we need to do naturally to express our true self. Most of us have tried to walk away from it for varying reasons, but in my vast experience in the TG world, I have never seen anyone sucessfully achieve it for their betterment.

I hope you can come to terms with it, if you can then your life will be enhanced so much, sometimes our greatest enemy is ourself. There are millions upon millions of people around the world across all cultures who feel as we do, so it can't be wrong, it was meant to be.

Thank you so much for your encouragment and kind words. You know, I have just recently figured out I just can't fight it anymore. So, I'm accepting my crossdressing, but it is a slow process. Again, thank you, and to everyone here that has been so helpful. I may 'get down' with it all again, but I am finally coming to terms with who I am. I'm a crossdresser.

I'm 25 also and can relate to the desire to stop, to seeing cross-dressing as wrong. I think my conservative back-ground has much to do with that. But i really don't know if it's possible for us to stop, I'm coming to terms with it the best i can.

It's wonderful to hear folks understanding early (yes...age 25 is early). It took me nearly 50 years! Thanks to a wonderful wife (my second) I've finally come to terms with who I am, and discovered I have always been my own worst enemy.

I chose a name (Notweird) to reflect that to me everytime I log on. I've received a new blessing and am changing that name to 'Hope'.
