I have, i will again eventually, and i do read them, i think they are wonderful.
Blogging for me was very therapeutic, and not only for trans reasons, my blog at my last forum was a place i was able to unload alot of history dealing with my recovery from severe alcoholism.
And the good folks (at the time) there were fine with that, i met many other recovery folks in the process but more importantly i learned i had a voice while blogging.
That was huge in my acceptance of myself.
Blogging as form of selfishness? prolly might be some out there, but frankly i think a good majority of the picture posting folks win hands down when it comes to being selfish.
This is all just my lowly opinion of course, do with it as you will.

Re: Blogs
I read several, comment only occasional, and infrequently post.
I see it less as self-absorption but rather as a sounding board of self-discovery. I've been comfortable with who I am for some time now, but still, Drea presents new challenges and ideas to me daily, and sometimes, getting the thoughts out where I can review them helps immensely.
Hugs,
Drea

Re: Blogs
I do occasionally blog, comment etc, the 90-9-1 rule http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1%25_rule_ ... culture%29 mostly still applies and I'll probably never know the great mass who subscribe to the crap (self publicising linky bit) I write

Re: Blogs
I started a blog this year. I'll freely admit that it is the nearest Carol currently gets to coming out in public and as such is a major part of developing my feminine personality. Carol did go out in public about two decades ago but I've promised my wife that Carol will stay home and pending renegotiation that is how it has to be.

I'll add mine: http://www.erictheoccasional.blogspot.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And of course the Notes in Facebook and my blog in Tribe.net, both of which are under my legal name, {real name deleted by SL}. And yes, I think more simple CDs should be 'out'. Making it real makes it politically and socially relevant, which is important because there's no reason why a private or underdressing CD ever needs to be out - except that until many more of us are, it will remain a laughable fetish to the default straight world.

Re: Blogs
You have to go to my website if you want the link to my blog. Everything on it originally appeared here on this forum, I believe. I never think about writing as self-centered, the way I'd think that if someone dominates a conversation. Writing is by nature one-sided; the writer is telling us a story, whether it's fact or fiction. If I get bored I'll stop reading, but the writer has the green light to say whatever they want to about themselves, for as long as they think they need to write to explain it.
There's a wealth of good writing out there, and that would include all the blogs listed here, too. I wish there were more time for reading.
