Hair Removal

I've tried a bunch of different methods for hair removal, and read a lot of comments about people's varying degrees of success. Shaving is okay for me but not quite got 'the' feel ? I did electrolysis on my face and that worked quite well, but is soooo costly and takes a long long time to complete, that fell by the wayside too. I tried epilators but they just made me sore and didn't really do a very good job for me. I've got my own wax system thingy and that's brilliant for my legs, but does get a bit messy at times and the cartridges aren't as cheap as I'd like...

Fortunately, I don't have heavy hair issues so I haven't been persuing this as a major problem. Yesterday tho, I was at a bootsale and I found a little gadget I've never seen before. It's called Sheer Skin. It was brand new in a box and the guy wanted 20 pence for it

Last night I was watching TV and an infommercial thingy came on for...you got it...Sheer Skin! It's a little rubber mat with a finger band on it, and you basically stick a pad of what lookslikee wet and dry sandpaper on it, and rub it over your skin in small circles. Everything always looks brilliant on these adverts so I was skeptical about it all, but watched them demonstrating it and the hair came right off. Will the world ever be the same again sort of thing? Heehee.

Well this evening I've just tried mine out. And wow! I'm amazed, I've done all over my legs and it feels just like they've been waxed. Very smooth indeed. Not one mark anywhere, and NO pain at all, not even a tinsy bit. I'm hooked. I haven't tried the face yet, but I will

I'm not one for shameless plugging of things, but this is so effective on me I think I should mention it? The TV ad asked £20 for it, which is waaay OTT, but on eBay they're £2.00 a set. I'm well pleased with mine, and maybe if anyone's looking for a better way, this may just help!

I haven't got much hair elsewhere. (I shaved my legs once and it never seemed to grow back...yayy!) But the face is the problem. Whilst I have fair hair, I'm never satisfied with the look after shaving.

Oh, how I agree with you about electrolysis. Unfortunately, it's the only method that's guaranteed to eliminate a grey beard, permanently. I could have bought a new automobile for what I've paid, so far. The good thing is, my skin looks a LOT better in the areas (lips and chin) that have been completed. It's also great not to have to shave those areas every day.

Hi Karin , A similar product that has been around for ages is " silkymit" by Alida health and beauty. As you say it is like wet and dry paper , only with silkymit it is two pieces back to back so you can put your fingers between like a glove. You then sand away removing the surface hair and any dead skin leaving a silky feel to the skin. It does not remove the roots and therefore will not remove hair shadow. But for a fast hair removal system for the body it is ideal.

We've the exact same thing here, but it's called Smooth Away (use google images to compare).

I've tried it, and found it takes longer, and the stubble appears just as fast as if I had shaved. Shaving is cheaper.

that product didnt work for me took longer and was hard on stubble
seemed to work better on longer hair

Been there done that with the saloon... Yup, me in a dress in a bar full of blokes....

As for the face fur. There are options. But there's no funds, considering that I paid up front with the last lot. Not worth even recovering in a small claims case as I had a special deal anyway. I don't blame the girls who ran it. Just probably too much competition from other beauty salons that ended up with it going into administration.

It's interesting, I was going to start a topic on hair removal too. I guess great minds think alike . But has anyone tried Nair? I'm curious about how it works.
