Wearing A Mini Skirts In My Forties

Post by Belinda »

I cant belive that I was still wearing mini skirts when I was forty six. I wouldnt do it now, but at the time it seemed ok, in fact I had far better mini skirts and dresses then than in earlier years. I first experimented with mini skirts at the age of 32, shortly after I got married. When I got married I my dressing up time increased because my wife was at work, but in those days I was still a bit unsure what my skirt size was and I made many a faux pax, often squeezing in to a size 12 when I was in reality a 16.

I dont wear mini skirts and dresses now, I have sensibly boiught longer clothes, but not too long as I love to see my my legs in tights, also wear lower heels these days, much as I would love to wear them its not age apropriate dressing anymore and it would cripple my feet.

I have a few mini skirts, and am 57.

If you got the legs for them, have fun!

Like DonnaT I have a few mini skirts and like to wear them at home while walking around in 5" high heels, and I'm only 67 yrs young. So why not treat yourself to a day of fun.

I'm 57 ( had to think there ) and I also have some mini skirts and very short dresses, after all you are only as old as you feel.

I think I see a theme developing here, yep I too am past the magic half century, and yes I too wear miniskirts. I do resist the temptation to wear them all the time, sometimes it is just not apprpriate but at other times it is fun, and lets face it that what it's all about isn't it?

Hi Paula, I thoroughly agree with your statement above. (We might pop our clogs tomorrow, but hopefully not, now we're more into this "hobby" of ours!)

Regrettably, I don't have any mini skirts. The nearest I got is a dress which comes to about an inch above my knee! I'm still shopping though!!!

When I'm dressed up I look my age (58) and like I wouldn't be interested in wearing the mini-skirt I have. It's just something about the expression in my face. The other thing is having cycled about for 30 years, it's built up my leg muscles - so that, although my legs aren't particularly heavy, I don't think they'd ever pass as female in anything other than a below the knee skirt.

Hi Anthony. Leg musculature is certainly another factor in my not having any mini dresses/skirts! (although my legs ain't that bad... :) )

Hi Anna. It's kind of depressing. I look at my legs in the mirror and think "You'll never get away with it!"

When I'm wanting to wear a shorter skirt, it's a scooter skirt -- a full skirt with shorts under. My gg friends are always telling me I have legs to be envied. I used to have legs that went all the way up. Now... not all the way up so my shorter skirts are now going to cover the less than best parts of my legs. If I'm wearing a short skirt or dress, without the shorts or the opaque tights, it's not going to be more than a few inches above my knees. Flaunt them while you got them, ladies!

I'm in my forties now Gah. I actually wore a miniskirt on my recent camping trip, albeit at night to the vending machines and toilet block. Really it was cos I didn't think anyone would be about and couldn't be bothered to change just for that. As per typical...as soon as I got there people started appearing, I think five people in total walked past me while I was getting drinks. I didn't get a single funny look either, which was awesome :). I wear them round the house quite a bit, but never out before this. Not sure if my legs look male or female Tbh. I'm a hopeless judge..

Not sure if legs are masculine or feminine, hairy or smooth yes, fat or thin yes, muscular or lean yes, but masculine or feminine ~ not sure. My calves and ankles are pretty battered from Rugby and bikes so the best bits are higher up s I guess I should be wearing boots and very mini skirts ~ sounds like fun.
