sweater dresses

Post by Ralitsa »

This is the time of year, ladies, get them out and wear them!! :)

I love wearing a sweater dress in cold weather, they are just so snug and warm and comfy. Last spring I ordered 2 on clearance from VS, and had them shipped to a friend of mine who was also ordering some stuff. So I finally picked them up and got to wear one of them on Wed. We had a little bit of snow in PA the day before, and it was still cold, so it just felt like the perfect time for it.

The best part is that I got a few compliments on it. One lady in the coffee shop told me "it looks really good on you, and you wear it well" @@9@@ So maybe I was strutting a little bit that day. :)
Then later on another lady (this one is someone I know) told me she really liked it and wanted to borrow it. And if that's not a compliment I don't know what is.

Donna and I can start a maternity ward. I tried the almost dress length sweater and leggings look last year. I'm not shaped any better this year. If you got the body, then certainly do it. If you have my body and want to ride up front with mass transit then do it.

I've never found a sweater dress that was flattering on me, but I'm sure it's out there. I have a few long sweater tops that I adore and you'd think a little more length is all it would take. I haven't really looked much in the past year or two, admittedly. I guess I haven't figured out how make the dress/boots combination work for me – and if it's cold enough for a sweater dress then it's usually pretty limiting on footwear options.

I'll have to try one of my wife's on. She has a number of them. I've never thought them very sexy, so haven't tried them out yet. We'll see. Good idea.

true, they are not sexy in the normal interpretation of the idea. But they are cute and cozy and if you find one that fits you well can look quite sophisticated. Most of all, this sort of weather is perfect for one.

I've found a couple of sweater dresses that fit well, giving me a very feminine form. Living in Wisconsin, there is a definite need for warm and comfortable dresses.

I'm with Kimberley, I haven't yet found a sweater dress that is long enough that looks right, I have a nice long sweater which I wear with skinny jeans and a couple of tunics that I can wear with jeans or leggings but nothing I would call a dress.

yeah, I have a few that are rather short also. but you can always wear leggings with them. Actually I like the tunic and leggings look, although I don't wear it.
Well a few days ago I was shopping and trying to find another sweater dress, and it seems like all the winter clothes are being cleared out. It seems sort of early for that, winter has barely started an the spring and summer fashions are coming out. I saw plenty of new bathing suits out, but no sweater dresses. As much as I'd like a new skirtini, I'm not going to buy something I won't get to wear for 3 months. But Talbots has some great sales on their web portal so maybe I'll order something.
