What's the best bargain you've had?

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Brenda, bras that fit perfectly are a treasure beyond price. I've got two of the old $2.00 Wal-Mart cross-your-heart knockoffs that I'll never willingly part with :)

My best bargains ever are a toss-up:

A) About 6 years ago I got a mixed lot of vintage foundations (garter belts and girdles) at a Goodwill for a buck or two apiece, some of them brand new and still tagged for sale. I still have them and wear them, all of them fit me well.

B) At another Goodwill I got a 60's vintage Nardis of Dallas Chinese red sheath evening dress with jacket in excellent condition for $5.00 and it looks fabulous on me. This is a prize collectible because Nardis was owned by Abraham Zapruder, who took the 8mm film of the Kennedy Assassination, and was known for working in his own frock factory.

I have been fairly lucky over the years in buying some decent shoes in New Year sales, usually in New Look, nothing fancy but a bargain none the less. Have had some nice skirts in Matalan over the years, always a pleasure to shop there and value for money.

Thrift store shopping again: last week I went to a thrift store and got 2 sweaters and a skirt/top/jacket outfit all for $2.99. Then a few days later I went to a different one, I needed a large suitcase. I got some really nice earrings for 50 cents, a belt for 50 cents and a few other things, but I didn't see any suitcases. So I asked if they had any and she said she would go down and look in the basement. A while later she came back with one and told me, "this is all we have and it's not in good condition so you can just have it." The only thing really wrong with it is a huge black stain on the side (it's red) so it looks bad but otherwise is sound.
And when I wore the earrings to a wedding on Friday, I got several nice compliments on them, so I am quite happy with the deals @@9@@

Hi Kiera
I know it’s some time since you posted this item – but reading this gave me a big chuckle. Long time since I wanted to buy tools, these days I’m sorting out which are to go.

My best bargain? without a doubt was the 100% leather skirt for $ 6 at good will store. It was a tad small but I could not pass it up

Every week I buy beautiful no-frill plus-size dresses of all lengths, $2 - $10,
at used clothing stores everywhere.
Great hobby.
I have so many that I donate them back.
I wear them everywhere with nylons all the time.
I'm gender queer.

My best bargain was found at a 2nd hand store about 3 months ago. I found 6 pairs of Worlford fatal 15 pantyhose for $2 each new in original package. They are around $50 in the store.
