Anyone had experience of getting their prescription filled in a feminine frame? I'm a long-time wearer (got my first pair at 3!). My regular pair don't fit my look!

Last year I needed new glasses, and the opticians had a bogof (Buy One Get One Free) offer so I planed to have one pair in men's frames, and one in women's frames. When I went for the fitting/frames choice session I attended en femme so I could get the "look". I actually found that all the women's frames I tried looked a little too narrow on my face, making me look more of a "man wearing a dress". With help from the "stylist" I choose a more feminine (black with pink highlights) pair of frames from the men's rack and I now wear these whenever I am out.

I find that this is one of those little details (like making sure I have an "engagement" ring as well as my wedding ring on display) that confirms my femininity in any who may be unsure. At the very least it makes me feel better!

I had no problems getting a pair. They were having a $99 dollar sale, and I was going on vacation to Vegas.

My problem came when I surprised my wife with them.

No never did but the sales lady had a crazy look on her face and I told her not to worry hon. I still don't believe she understood

I've done it multiple times and I just tell them I go out en fem. Once in awhile I'm asked to come back en fem so they can see. I usually wind up having them work a price for me if I need both pairs of lens updated and it's particularly hard when I need both frames. I tend to use a set of frames for a few new sets of lens. I too have been wearing glasses forever and so it's no big deal for me to get male and female frames.

I first wore female frames in the mid 1970's, just mainly for taking part in Gay Pride activities, I am very nearsighted and I've worn glasses since circa 1959. I the last month I purchased two pairs of females frames from Zenni Opitical...one orage, which I'm wearing now, and a tortoiseshell frame, both cat's eye style and I love them. Btw I have worn only female frames since 2003, just after I went 24/7 living as a woman.

I have had no trouble buying ladies frames, even back in the 1970's, I don't remember the chains' name back then, there are now out of business. I have also bought many female frames from Sears and never a problem. Back in circa 2003, I national chain did not want to sell me female frames, that was the only time that I had problems.
