Well, I got the guts to go to my first support group. Everyone there was really nice and friendly. Some people were dressed, some weren't, so I didn't feel too uncomfortable or out of place in drab. It was amazing to be able to talk face-to-face with people who understand exactly what I'm going through. Everyone here has been great, but there's something about that human interaction that's special.
Anyway, this was a pretty big step for Ms.-buried-in-the-closet here, and I just had to share. I have to thank the ladies of the chat room, especially Kim S. and Denise, for helping me make that step. You girls rock!

Re: First support group meeting
Well hon now you know why this is a great place to be, I know both ladies very well and Denice has help Carol on a few things.
Supports groups are great and they will be a help to get you out of the closet ( if you wish), and I am sure they will have outings to help you feel comfortable and get out in public as Michaela.
Have fun dear and enjoy,
