Ladies.
To me, wearing a girdle (and a longline bra) is fundamental. True, sometimes a girdle will feel uncomfortable but the benefit it provides far outweighs the minor issues it creates...like using the ladies room.
Someone once said about girdle wearing: "there are two times a day when a woman knows she is / was wearing a girdle. the first is right after putting it on, adjusting it to suit and attaching the stockings...(the firm and sleek and smooth feeling I receive is wonderful) and the second time is right after removing the girdle after a long day of wearing it" The feeling I get right after getting undressed, after having been dressed for 10-12 hours (or longer), is sort of weird...I just feel loose and flabby and sometimes I will put on a light weight shaper (Spanx) or a light controlling brief girdle to help with the transition back to drab. I do not regret wearing my girdle, it’s just the feeling of being "un-girdled".
One of the greatest pleasures I received was when I finally got up the nerve to go to Frishmann's in NYC (now closed). Knowing I would be in NYC, I called and set up an appointment with Carol. On the appointed time / date, she greeted me and asked what I would like to look at. I asked if I could try on what I was considering. She responded: "how else would I know if it’s the right one?" I was dressed in drab, but had brought my longline bra and forms with me; she also asked about panties. Did I have any or was I wearing any? She sized me for a pair of Bali Skimp-Skamp ( the kind I still prefer today) I purchased these outright.
She quickly determined my figure problem areas: poochie tummy, droopy, flabby bum and a muffin top. She showed me several different types of girdles from different makers; pull on styles and zipper styles all were high waist style with long legs (my preference). I was in heaven....the opportunity to try on various styles and configurations were great. I selected 2 Rago's, 4 Custom Maid styles, a Cortland. I adjourned to the fitting room and stripped down and stepped into the Skimp-Skamp panty. WOW a great panty; smooth and stretchy and great. The first girdle I tried on was the Custom Maid # 299, a zipper style. this took a little struggling to get it on but....double WOW. My tummy was absolutely flat my bum was rounded and very firm and I had no muffin top. She wanted to see the results. She commented that I looked great but to try on the others for comparison and results. She asked how it felt...Wonderful. By this time I had but on my longline bra and forms (Goddess 1304 size 48C and size 10 forms…)as of late, I now use size 12 triangular forms…what a difference, in both feel and appearance). She commented on how well I projected and the smooth bust thru thigh line looked, thanks to the high waist girdle and long line bra combination. I continued to try on the various different girdles I had selected and I also managed to try a couple of different long line bra styles.
My total purchase comprised of: Custom Maid 299, Custom Maid 578 ( a high waist long leg zipper style made from Tweave Material, (super tight and controlling but extremely light weight), Custom Maid 744 ( light weight pull on style with a huge cotton crotch that’s cool when worn in hot weather); Cortland 5039 pull on style (very tight and controlling – good when worn over panty hose); the Rago 6210, and the Rago 1294 ( an OBG that is very controlling but comfortable) several different longline bras. The purchase was rather pricey. But what the hell…..I’m worth it. I still like to wear the Custom Maid girdles for special occasions along with a good longline bra and I have many to choose from. I mourn the passing of Frishmann’s. Lady Grace is another good source….Talk with Rachael at the Granite city store…she is most helpful and will make suggestions when asked. They have a liberal return policy.
Here is a link to Custom Maid. They have shops where you can purchase from.

When dressing I almost always wear panties under my girdle, except when I’m wearing an OBG, then I wear nothing, sort of “commando” style. You just have to be careful how you sit, squat and getting in and out of a car…..
Anyway…..comments ladies….

Kittie, I have the same problem. Get those that have stays(boned). They won't roll.

If going out and wearing a dress or suit a OBG with garders plus a longline bra does a WONDERFULL job of giveing me the shape and figure the wife is jealous of.

Re: Girdle wearing
Hi Bobbi, and thanks for the links. I need a girdle as well, as my upper body is a bit larger due to a history of weight lifting, although not as much lately. I bought a girdle from the store, but it's too tight, so will have to get a size larger, but I also bought that muffin top item from bed bath and beyond, which helps a little, but it's not tight enough. Being a guy, we always have a problem of hiding certain parts of our bodies, but toning exercises, and some feminine dancing in my apartment helps keep the belly down. Also, less beer drinking as well.
