triggers

Post by AnnBrook »

For those of us who are not full time. When we are in lull in the dressing, when the urge has subsided somewhat. What are your trigger points. ? For me it maybe seeing a lady in sheer hosiery or a nice blouse. Then urge to dress increases.

Lull? Wassat? Actually I do have lulls, but not so much in dressing but in shopping. I dress most of the time, but I don't shop as often as I used to. So what happens is when I don't get out en fem soon enough then my shopping gene goes haywire. If I set up my schedule to get out then usually the week before, my shopping gene is reactivated.

I think Ann is right to suggest that if you're not dressing up all the time, things can trigger the urge. When I was a teenager that would be something like seeing a female impersonator on the TV or in print. That would really set me off.

The other side of it is later on I tended to avoid shows with female impersonators in them, because I knew that would set off the urge. That was in my 20s and after, when I was trying to repress it. It doesn't really work like that any more because I dress up pretty much when I like.

Back when I wasn't able to freely indulge, I was continually aware of what women around me were wearing, which would usually start a train of thought about how strongly I wished I had been born female. Nowadays, if I have to go somewhere in drab, I suffer from little buffetings of wardrobe envy. Makeup, jewelry, and forbidden modes of self expression have similar effects, particularly as one must consciously shift gears to avoid certain gestures, phrasings, expressions, and the like while in drab when you're usually able to immerse as deeply as I am. To be acceptably male, one must not just stifle all the "hon"s and "sugar"'s and the blinding smile, but also contain a great deal of spontaneous expressivity that GG's take for granted and have never had to repress. This act of repression in turn makes me uncomfortable, so i can hardly wait to get back to what for me is "normal" mode. Triggers? Oh yes, I certainly understand triggers.........,

I agree with Ann. Seeing a hosiery clad lady is one of the major contributing factors which triggers my desires to dress up.

Ann's experience matches mine. We don't see women in hose nearly enough anymore, but that's the number one trigger for me.

The swimming pool can do it, too, since my first experience was with a swim suit.
