Hi Love,

Thank you!!! :) Yes, it does help. :-k

Any suggestions? Should I just wear one around the house to get use to it? I mean I do that in the house with heels now and that's why I walk ok in them now. I think I just answered my own question, but purses could be different.

I also wasn't sure if our SOs can tell we are uncomfy with them.

It was also cool to know you gals notice other gals. I never knew another woman could tell a woman didn't wear heels that much. :-k You gals are incredible! :) So much stealth(no on purpose) with the things you observe and do. That's one of the reasons I enjoy being a male who CD's because I don't covet those abilities you gals have, but I do appreciate them.

Thank you Love!!! :)

Interesting! I have noticed that when I go out dressed and times when I wear sun glasses I have on a couple of occasions seen GG's "checking me out." I think that as males we, like the blundering lumox's we are, we just slobber and stare, but women are soooooo much more discrete. I had to "cut my eyes really hard" to appear to look straight ahead but look to see if I was being looked at by a GG. They are so good at it that if you are not paying attention you will miss it (most males do.) As it was explained in an earlier post it is like they have a ultra-high resolution multi-megapixal camera in their head so it is simply "point and click" and its over. Then later they can play back what they saw and critique it at their leisure. They either file it for future reference (cute shoes or nice blouse or purse, etc.) or it goes to the refuge file and "poof" it gone.
If you want to check it out I would recommend going to a mall "en drab" and just watch the GG's check out the other GG's. It is quite a sport. You can almost tell whether they file it for future reference of it goes in the "trash" file.

well, I think it would be the same for purses also, if you wear a purse often enough you will be "used to"/ "comfortable" with it after some time.

well, my hubby is the only CD that I have seen (I think) :-k , and I can usually "tell" when someone doesn't wear something very often. (they "look" uncomfortable to me)

"Notice" each other? Other GG's are our biggest critics. this is just my opinion but, other GG's check out other women to see what they are wearing and how they are wearing it. Sometime they give a smile back to you (approval) :) dressed concervatively, but sometimes you get the "dirty look" (disapprove) [-X ] especially when dressed "sexy".

I find that "men" are happy with whatever I am wearing =P~ , and they always smile back.

I usually can, they seem to not walk so "gracefully" (to me), ya know, and very wobbley

I love being able to carry a purse ! And just look at the selection at any store !! This is something my wife teases me about all the time, its to the point now that I will not carry a wallet in my back pocket, it just feels uncomfortable as heck!
My normal morning routine is to grab all 3 sets of keys, my cell phone, wallet, check book, and small daytimer, usually all stuffed in my arms while going to the car. If I could find a purse that didnt look like a purse I would buy it in a heartbeat for everyday use!!
Cindy would be lost without a purse ,, girls have even more stuff to keep up with :-)))),,, and at 15.00 or 20.00each I have maybe 7 now, trying to match outfits. So for me its a natural *S*

Excellent post! I have to say that I agree with what you wrote. My husband doesn't have much confidence with his gait and carrying a purse just doesn't look like a natural act so we rehearse before going out the door. It gets quite hilarious as I'm trying to teach his to loosen up, quit walking like his wig will blow off (stiff neck syndrome) and to swing his hips a little. Then he gets his arms going and we both crack up. I know that as he develops more confidence and has more practice it will come along. He's so darned cute.

Hi Kay,

That rocks! :) That you can both laugh and have fun with it instead of taking things way too seriously. :) All of this and he still gets great femme advice too.

=D> to you and your SO! =D>

None of my GG friends carry purses. I don't know how they do it! Me, I have to lug all my junk with me: Makeup, money, keys, phone, and so on & so forth...

A great thread!

For me, it depends on what I'm doing and when/where I am going. I generally won't go "out" without a purse for all the same reasons: too much to carry. My stupid wallet nowadays is 2 inches thick and weighs about a pound and a half. En Drab it now fits only in a front pocket.

But if it is dark, and I won't be leaving the car, or if it is just around the house, I love pockets, in skirts or dresses. They give me someplace casual to put my hands. Helps me look casual. Also, pockets are enough for a hankie or cell phone or penlight or whatever.

But pockets on my blouse are definitely a no-no. If I like a new blouse except for the pockets, the pockets come off. To me, nothing looks worse on a chest than pockets, even empty pockets.

Hugs,

Bernice

I was just thinking of something in relation to purse idea and have been wondering if I have been carrying around a purse (to say) for a long time. I have shoulder bag, that is to say the bag goes over one shoulder, and has a stap to tighten to your waist so when you walk the bag does not keep slapping you in the back. Anyway I carry all sorts of things in there including papers sometimes my checkbook (I don't like having in my back pocket as I am afraid someone will pickpocket it) the other day I put the bra I was wearing in there (it was becoming really uncomfortable). Officially I believe it's type of backpack but could this not also be a purse just not in the word.

I prefer to carry nothing at all.

I have been asked by past boyfriends why I don't carry a purse and I felt kinda stupid like "Do you want me to carry one?" and then I consequently have a few to choose from if the need arises (nice one's too).
I'm totally confident carrying one but prefer not to because I don't want to be weighed down with an unneccesary accessory....

Plus, there is always the fear of forgeting it and loosing wallet, keys, cell phone, pictures of loved ones etc.......that's a big downer right there!

Anyone else feel this way?

Lefty,

Your reasons for not carrying a purse are pretty much the same as my wife's.

The only other one she would probably add would be that around our church a few elderly women have had their purses snatched - so why tempt fate?

My loving, supporting wive knows about this forum and my participation but chooses not to participate herself - but she says she may lurk sometime.

I tend to carry a purse most of the time because I need somewhere to put all my stuff... I really don't like them and if I can I try to use a stylish fanny pack instead. My hands are free and less chance of anything getting stolen... :)

Hi all,

Sharon,

Speaking of stylish fanny packs, how's your, er, um, tushie doing? And your thighs? Are you recuperating okay? Did you manage to ditch the girdle? Most of all, are the results what you expected? How does it look? I'm too curious for my own good, I know, but I'm dying to find out.

Love,
CJ

Hi CJ,

Thanks for asking about my fanny!!! rotf

I have been recuperating nicely...

It's been 5 weeks now and I'm still a little sore in spots. The nerve endings are still sensitive so you get this sensation as if your skin is crawling. Creepy feeling!!! Thank goodness thats only temporary!!!

I'm still wearing a girdle because I am an "older" woman and the elasticity of the skin isn't as good a someone in their 20's so I need to wear it longer...:( I've basically gotten used to it. I'll probably end up ditching it towards the end of this month.. *-*

Everything is healing nicely and I am beginning to see some of the results. Still have another 2 months before I see the final results. The swelling has only gone down about 50%. So I do have a ways to go...But I have noticed that my jeans fit better... \:D/

All in all, it has been a good experience. I'm looking forward to more improvements to my bod in the future...
