Hi CJ--
I got in on this one late--a lot has already been said. Good stuff, too.
One BIG suggestion--be sure and check your server's spam folder. Many of my personals replies were going into the spam filter, and I didn't even know it!
The other suggestion is a style hint. On the Internet, it seems to help if you break up the text into small paragraphs. You write wonderfully--now, just break it up into smaller bits.
I'd also agree with another poster way up the line--explore the other posts on that service, and if you see one that resonates for you, give her some directions to your profile.
Are you around Toronto? Sorry that I don't remember! Craigslist operates there, and they have good "women seeking men" sections.
You'll find her, one way or another. Hang in there, Christina!
Love,
Anita

Hi all,
Anita,
Thanks for your stylistic suggestions.
Actually, the text you see there (which I translated from the original French) was broken up into smaller paragraphs; I just squeezed it together for the sake of uniformity here. Also, and this was one of Beauty's concerns, my text is one of the shorter ones I saw on the site. I combined the "Who am I?" portion of my profile with the "What am I looking for?" portion.
The site in question is an international francophone one called Réseau Contact (of course, I searched locally, here, in Montreal). One big drawback--and I think this is why I ultimately withdrew--is that, unless you're a paying member (about 40% of the membership), you can only communicate with other members through, very short, form letters and greetings. Not my cup of tea.
I won't give up, though. I might look into whether or not anyone here, in Montreal, is available through MSN's Lava Life or through Yahoo Personals. I might, anyway.
Thanks, Anita, for the compliments, too. I love your own writing also.
Love,
CJ

CJ, having been out of the "dating game" for quite a while I can not help with where to look I guess I can only reinforce what our sisters have said that you are a wonderful person and you bring a great gift to a relationship that will serve you and your SO well for the rest of your lives. We have no doubt that you will find someone or they will find you and then we all expect to meet her and reinforce what a great person she has as her SO. Prayers and best wishes,
Deborah
